Firework Dessert Party

I'm probably not the best person to answer, as I've technically never done the fireworks party, but I have many WDW visits under my belt including a number of them with toddlers.

You know the specific child best.

A good number of children that age dislike the loud noises, so you might consider how the child has previously reacted to fireworks and other loud noises. Also consider that WDW is a sensory overload all day: noise, bright colors, motion, food smells, etc. By the end of the day, not all, but many will be a bit tired. Not necessarily physically tired, but tired form all the sensory exposure. Others handle it well, so some will be just fine. I'm giving generic advice.

It will also depend on the rest of your day. An afternoon break or nap can do wonders for everyone. Weather can also be a factor; like the 95 degree days of summer, or rain, or cold/windy.

Some children are night owls, some are not. So a shorter day might help, as opposed to a full marathon day. Mind, the kids/adults in my family did pretty well with long days, but evenings can be a bit unpredictable. Just a few weeks ago, we thought for sure we'd make it to 11pm, but most of my group wanted to bail around 9:45pm on one of our nights.

In my family, we often did late nights, but we didn't 100% feel up to late nights (When there were toddlers in our group, and even when there isn't). That's one reason why I am reluctant to pay for a non-refundable dessert party, at least for my somewhat unpredictable group. Without the party, we often stay in MK late, but we also have the ability to leave early if we don't feel like staying late. Mind, many people like the dessert parties.

Now, this is probably not what you are thinking, but one thing we have enjoyed is staying at the Contemporary in the main building so we can watch the fireworks from there. We sometimes get some desserts/snacks to enjoy. They have some good ones in the gift shop on the 4th floor, and also a few in the Contempo Cafe. If someone wants to go to bed, they can, and the rest of us can stay up late. Mind, the prices at CR are rather high these days, so we often do split visits. (1 or 2 nights at CR, the rest of the visit somewhere that costs less.)
