It would be nice to find an add on to replace the Webmail Compose extension. It is not compatable with 2.0 and it gets really annoying to click on email links and get another browser pop up.

The Nightly Tester Tools extension lets you override compatibility checking. *Most* of the time, extensions work cross versions. No guarantees though

No matter how much I try, there's no convincing my sister that Firefox is (for one thing...) SAFE, and a billlion times better than IE. (I downloaded it once, and she claimed she had to keep "deleting spyware". Yep. A real electronic wizard. :brick: )

Tabbed browsing means that, instead of opening up a new window (of Internet Explorer, for example), there's "tabs" inside one window that you can click to open up others.

If you have really good eyesight, you can see CNN.com, Ask Jeeves results, and Yahoo! Mail opened up in that window, for example. (Look just under the address bar).

OK, so I just gave in... it's currently installed, and I'll see how long it takes for her to attempt an uninstall.

GREAT browsing, BTW. Too bad I'll have to give it up in... I'll wager two hours. :lookaroun

Internet Explorer isn't the only way to browse the web... there are alternative browsers out there that many would argue are better. Firefox tries harder that IE6 to protect you from nasty stuff on the web, and any flaws in the browser are usually patched within 24 hours (as opposed to Microsofts "up to 2 weeks")

With Internet Explorer, if you want to visit a different site (but keep the current one active), you select "New Window", correct? This leads to a whole host of active sites on your taskbar at the bottom.

Tabs allow you to browse lots of different sites from within one window, or in the case of Magic, you could click "New Posts", and open everything you want to read in tabs. This way as you are reading the first new post, all the other ones are loading in the background ready for you to read next.

Internet Explorer Version 7 has support for tabs as well (now all the major browsers do... IE, Firefox, SeaMonkey, Opera, Safari, Konqueror)

I could never go back to a non-tabbed browser. It changed the way I use the web...

See my Firefox guide to tabs here: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=45465

Hey Dana,

Take a look at: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/features.html#experience as well... it explains some of the features of Firefox.

Firefox is also extensionable. Independent authors have written close to 2000 add-ons for the browser. Examples are like: Forecast Fox which adds weather reports to your status bar, or Adblock, which hides all internet advertising.
Cool..Thanks...Im downloading now and Im gonna see how I like it...:)

If you need any help with anything, there are plenty of people here that can help. It should Import all your IE settings when you first run it.

Don't hesitate to ask. :)

(So far, I've managed to get My Mum (& Husband), Dad (& Wife) on it happily, and a few more ;) )
