Half-drama, half-comedy, not a horror. A24's association with it, plus the odd trailer, has some people expecting a disturbing horror like the two examples you mentioned, which this is not. I expect this to bomb hard and disappoint quite a few people expecting to be scared.

i always felt the jovovich series had a guilty pleasure vibe to it. i knew the movies were going to stink & over the top, but we enjoyed them & never took it seriously. wether this new version will be any better remains to be seen.
