We are getting ads in the mail for holiday stuff, and of course displays are out in stores. It's okay though, I love the holiday ambience.
I love the holidays too, but 2 weeks before Halloween??

And I know I'm being nostalgic here, but does anyone remember a holiday known as "Thanksgiving"? We used to have it back thru the late 80's. Was pretty popular...we ate turkey, met relatives, watched football. It came the same weekend that Christmas Part 1 falls on nowadays.

We take a weekend out of the Christmas season to celebrate Thanksgiving. And Halloween is pretty lame where I live. The trick-or-treating time ends at 7:00 (Central time) and it's still light out. Plus, nobody comes to our house because we live on a dead end and nobody wants to walk up here.

Haha. We should just combine all three holidays into one mega-season. Call it: Hallowthanksgistmas!
The best time of the year begins in early October (imo) and lasts through late Dec. I LOVE Halloween, I LOVE Christmas, and I miss Thanksgiving. With this new system of combining all three, you can see decor/store displays of all three during the entire duration of Oct-Dec. It will no longer be awkward seeing Christmas merch hitting stores in mid-Oct. It will no longer be sad for Halloween fans in early Nov. The best of 3 worlds lasting 3 long months. Who's with me, hazzah!

We need to throw Veteran's Day in there somehow too....and could we start the season at Columbus Day please?

But those are when it's getting closer to the nasty stickiness that is summer. *Blek*

Though I love the Veteran's Day idea.

I still celebrate all three holidays. And I don't start one before the next one is over.

Well, sometimes I cheat and play Christmas music after the turkey is eaten and all the crap is washed and put away.

That depends on where you live! Not so many years ago, I tromped through a foot of snow on my way into Easter mass.

Now, though, I prefer winter because it is beautiful in Florida. :) :) :)
