I was just curious what is the general consensus on Disney's fireworks, and comparing current shows to extinct ones and those once in a lifetime displays. Thanks!
Epcot's Illuminations has to be and IS the best fireworks display in WDW.
We have been WDW goers for years, we have seen them all. But the show and presentation of ROE still moves us each and every times. :sohappy:
I think "HalloWishes" might be my favorite fireworks display in Walt Disney World, but nothing in Florida holds a candle to "Remember ... Dreams Come True" in Disneyland.
I voted for Wishes since it's the best night time display I've seen at any of the WDW parks. HOWEVER, I enjoyed Illuminations pre1999 alot, and whatever the show was that we saw in Epcot back in 1988 had a score that I LOVED!!! Not sure what it was, but I recall a focus on each country and I remember Gershwin and possibly Debussy in the mix (or maybe I'm just thinking of the Impressions de France :lookaroun. It seems like forever since I saw it last, but the first time stood out just b/c it was the first time my dad was willing to stay in any WDW park until closing. :ROFLOL: He liked to beat the crowds.
EDIT: On our first trip back in 1985- Dad thought we could see enough of the Epcot show from our balcony on Irlo Bronson. I think it was Laserphonic??? Yeah- we didn't see much that trip
Illuminations "Reflections of Earth" with the Holiday Tag.
Illuminations itself would be number 1, but it just simply goes to another level when the holiday tag is added on. It is an amazing show (specially when it is working 100%) and it will be hard to ever top it.
The options were somewhat limited and I chose Epcot Holiday Event assuming that is why the OP put that in the list.
The first time I watched Summer Nightastic!, we were right next to the Disney statue and watched the show in its entire 180 degrees of brilliance, even watching it from contemporary was a great show (and a great score), but you don't get the same feeling
A very hard decision to make between Wishes and IllumiNations Reflections of earth. I love them both and never miss them. But I have to go with favorite Illuminations as the best because of the dazzling fireworks show, music, narration, special effects, and the Globe is always phenomenal to watch. Just have to get to the perfect spot to view, grab a beverage and I'm all set.
