Rumor Fantasyland Expansion

The ideological remembrance of Walt Disney is great (although the truth is he was just as much a cut-throat capitalist as anybody).

But the fact is, neither his parks, nor anybody else's would exist if they weren't returning value to shareholders.
But you know what made Walt Disney different? He was a creator who wanted to share his ideas with the world. All through his life, he kept risking *everything* on projects he believed in. Money, for him, meant one thing, mainly: Funds to create more films, then money to build and expand Disneyland, then money for the Florida project. He genuinely LOVED Disneyland. It wasn't a career move. It wasn't a notch in his belt. It wasn't part of an empire. It was his playground.
(EDIT)
And, yeah, he named it after himself, but if you put "Land" at the end of your last name and it sounded that great, wouldn't *you*? :D

Walt was one of the best creative minds the world has ever seen. He was also a fairly down-to-Earth individual who had a very grassroots understanding of what money was and wasn't good for. On top of it all, he was a ferocious salesman whose marketing strategies are still bread-and-butter for the company today.

All of those things can be true at once.

A more accurate way to phrase it would be, "Consumers like good story-telling, and are willing to pay a commercially viable price for it."

The other key part of the equation is that the consumer gets to decide what a "good" story is. Not the story teller.
Neither the story teller nor the consumer decide what is good. Man is not good and he can not know what is good on his own.

There is no Falcon. The Falcon is movie sets, models and CGI. The Falcon isn't real. It never existed. I enjoyed your criticism of the ride, but, c'mon. This in NOT supposed to be a historic recreation. It's an outer space fairy tale. And, besides there are now TWO Falcons. It's bi-coastal.

It's good to hear that people enjoyed it!

Is ... is the only thing that's good is to see your enemies driven before you and to hear the lamentation of their women?

I’m not so sure. It all depends on how close it is on the schedule. I think this D23 is all Epcot, some Marvel, and some of the international park developments.

They will probably not leave Disneyland in the lurch, especially if Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway is any indication.

I would say you're right, however D23 in 2017 other than some hints at Marvel for DCA, DLR got pretty much no mention. So unless there really is a green lit shovel ready project for DL itself it'll only be about MMRR for DL and Marvel for DCA.

What they may do is hint at some future projects but with no details. Something like Chapek saying, "We'll be continuing our multi-year investment into Disneyland and the Disneyland Resort with some future project that we'll be announcing at a later date. Be sure to check out the Parks Blog for more details as they become available".
