Hey everyone...getting closer to our trip in August and decided after 10 trips to the World to finally make time for Fantasmic.

Its been hard to keep two kids, 11 years apart both happy and to keep the little guy awake long enough to see it.

We tried to do it last year and wound up not going because we were all pretty shot and wanted to head to The Boardwalk for ice cream.

I like the idea of the Dinner package has anyone done this before??

Was the seating any better??

Any help and/or advice would be welcomed!! Thanks!!

I agree with the Master. It is worth it to not have to deal with the crowds. They try to provide a 180 degree viewing experience which helps when you are all the way to one side so that is a plus (It is nearly a semi-circle auditorium). Often times, though, they will pack in people to standing room only proportions so having "reserved" seating is a huge plus. Do it if you can, at least once.

There is a lunch option also - we have reservations for the Mama Melrose with the Fantasmic guaranteed seating.Maybe a nap will help your little guy in-between lunch and the fireworks will help him make it!

Also, if you are using the Dining Plan, the Fantasmic Package with Mama Melrose's is only 1 table serve credit per person - as opposed to the Brown Derby which is 2 table serve credits.

I was just looking around the site and came across this. It seems they may have moved the Dinner Package seating front and Center??!!

Due to a foot injury, I was in a wheelchair yesterday while at Hollywood Studios. We ate dinner at Hollywood and Vine and got the Fantasmic Dinner Package when we made the reservations.

While being escorted to our seats by a cast member, we asked when the preferred seating section had been moved. (It used to be on the far right of the amphitheater. It is currently in the center). He told us that they are getting ready to implement a fast pass system for Fantasmic. He would not give us any other details.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a ridiculous idea?

We did it back in 2010 and found it to be worth it with 2 young children. Yeah, we were seated on the right side, but the view was still decent and it was nice not having to waste time standing in line to get in.

We didn't do the package our last trip but In the Scar and Mickey sections at the top there were "VIP seating" Is this part of the package or something different? we have always been interested in doing it but never actually followed through.

We did the Mama Melrose lunch, and we were pretty much in the middle for the show. I think we were in the Scar section. The Fantasmic package was definitely worth it. We just waltzed in past the hundreds of people that were waiting in line. I felt like a rock star.

We did it in 2010 & it was worth it to us. We enjoyed just walking through the "secret" entrance with our golden ticket! I don't know if the seating has been moved but I do remember DH mentioning that the prime seats were all in villian sections. We'll see in October when we do it all over again!

We did the Fantasmic package on our last trip and whilst it was great not having to worry about queuing up, we had a lot of latecomers barging into our section and trying to get us to move around to accommodate them, which goes against the point of VIP seating in my opinion.

The seating is actually not the best (it is the far right section), but not having to deal with the line up and the waiting makes it worth it.

I agree but the seating is much better if you get there when it opens for seating and sit on the Far left of the Far right Section..in other worlds you can be pretty close to the center if you get there early enough if that makes sense..the Crowds can be insane so the Dinner package is the way to go IMO! Cant wait to see it again in September!

Fantasmic is not to be missed in my opinion, it is in fact my husband's favorite show at Disney followed closely by The Lion King. We have done the Mama Melrose package twice and found it to be a good value for us. We received an appetizer, main course and a dessert which they packaged up for us and we ate while we watched the show. I think it was for an early dinner (4 pm maybe) but by the time we got seated and ate we only had time to use our fastpasses for a ride and headed off for the theater. One year we were in standing room only and our twins were toddlers, they were loving the show but couldn't see for all the adults standing in front of us, they were very heavy to hold them so they could see, so in the spirit of never having to do that again we've gone with the package!

Hey Todd L! me and my family tried the Fantasmic package before. The Fantasmic package is when you eat at Mama Melrose's or Brown Derby restaurant at Hollywood studios. And the seats are no different they get a special area of the stadium. I think they just want you to eat at one of the restaurant for more money. But if you do the package you are sure that you will get a seat in stadium but everyone gets in because it is a huge stadium. Id like to ask if you don't mind how young is your youngest kid because he might get scared of the fireworks and big dragons

Every time someone posts this topic up I am always confused by the seating comments. Not saying the folks who say it's bad are lying but when we did it, I thought the seats were fantastic. Heck, the fact that we weren't pressed in like sardines itself was worth it nevermind the fact that we got to go in through a separate entrance and didn't have to wait in the line etc. etc. Plus, it doesn't cost a THING so why wouldn't you do it y'know? Just my two cents! I have pics from when we did it if you'd like to see the view and make your own decision. :D

It also includes the buffet at Hollywood & Vine!

I'll be doing the Fantasmic package when I go to WDW in October. I have 1:45 lunch reservations are Mama Melrose's. I prefer that to 4:00 or so dinner reservations. Besides, I'm doing dinner at Big River Grille and Brewing Works on Disney's Boardwalk after DHS closes.

From my point if view, the main benefit for doing the Package is not having to wait in the line for the show. Plus, doing the Package doesn't cost extra over what the cost if the meal would be anyway.
