Extra Magic Hours

Could someone update me on how late EMH's are being conducted (specifically at AK)? You show your hotel key/card and get a bracelet still? To get on the rides, does the bracelet suffice or do you have to show your hotel key/card as well? Thanks in advance.

It is normally one hour before scheduled opening and up to three hours (although I've never seen anything except three) after scheduled closing. In fact, it still says this on their EMH page. However, park hours differ depending on the time of year, so you have to check the scheduled park hours when you will be there to determine when EMH will be. And they are subject to change (and lately have been being changed at the last minute). And so are the EMH days.

For example, Wed Jun 10, at AK, regular park hours are 9-7, and EMH are 8-9 in the morning.

The best thing to do, I think is to check the official web site
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/calendars
(or go by the weekly schedule handed out when you check in).

Another good source with a neat interface is
http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours.htm
but I have noticed that it conflicts with the official site sometimes, and It's hard to be sure which is correct.

As advised in the Unofficial Guide (one of my favorite resources), call 407 824 4321 to hear official up-to-the minute park hours, and call back the day before you go to make sure.

And I believe that they are not doing wristbanding at any of the parks right now - you have to show your resort ID. Other posters can correct me if I am wrong, but that is the latest I heard.

We actually have a park hours and refurbishments calendar here at WDWMagic that includes EMH hours once they are released (currently through the end of September). http://www.wdwmagic.com/calendar.htm

you just need to show your resort card to get on the rides, and unfortunatley from recent experience, waste of time as most people were just cutting in behind the cm and not showing any id, plus the parks seem to be very busy in evenings with emh, as it now seems to be just open house to any one.i think they should make it more exclusive and only allow resort guests in to the park.
by the way AK only offers emh hour in the morning for one hour, and one hour sometimes in the evening (well it did whilst we were there for 14 days, just got back)

Just be aware that not the whole park is open, only specific rides. So you get all of the people staying at Disney rushing to those few rides and they are still packed. Last trip we used the morning AK hours (which worked out very nice for us) but the evening hours were an absolute waste of time. Soaring and test track still had a 2-hr wait.... You just show you resort ID at the ride.

My experience has been evening EMH at AK is three hours like the other parks. Perhaps it was different when you were there. For example, the next three Mondays (that's all I checked) it is currently scheduled for 7-10 PM.

And I LOVE evening EMH at AK! The last hour or two it is dark, and it is a completely different experience!

The last few weeks regular operating hours ended two hours earlier at 5 PM, so EMH should have been Wednesdays 5-8 PM. Perhaps that threw you off?
