Do show me where I stated "dinner for two." Let me help you, I didn't. It becomes far more difficult when you have to be an adult and coordinate for a travel party of 6+. Also, explain to me how you're able to book both Soarin' snd Test Track on your original set of 3 FPs, and the fact that you can't put Frozen Ever After in that mix proves my point. Also, i notice your lack of TSMM at the Studios, because that one's gone too. I gave you credit because you were correct that you can do some things without the advanced planning, however, you will miss out on certain experiences if you do things that way. That is a fact. If you want to reject reality and substitue your own, then go for it. But don't try to sell me your brand of crazy. We're all stocked up here.
I haven't been to DHS since they added the third track to TSMM where I wasn't able to get a TSMM FP day of or walk on with little to no wait (20 minutes or less).

TSMM is always a walk on when people are at fantasmic and waiting for fireworks... I think i did 5 rides in a row last week.

I hear ya. The other day when I checked prior to replying with the post you quoted, FP was no longer available at that time. As I was unreasonably being accused of lying, I wanted to ensure accurate information. I did not check stand-by times, though.

There...now that the sarcastic response to your pithy value statement is out of the way...of course they are. However, if you set unrealistic expectations then you're going to be disappointed.

Expecting on demand reservations at every restaurant on property for the time and date you want them whenever you decide to book it is an unreasonable expectation. So, with all due respect, you value something that is not obtainable. When you expect something that is unobtainable your disappointment is not valid.

This isn't a defense of the current ADR setup at WDW. The whole system could use an overall and booking dates for all experiences should have the same window including announcing and booking special events.

I am not interested in this conversation, because its all very personally oriented...Some people HAVE to get their thing and some don't really care...chalk me up as the latter, my brother is the former, so big dual family trips are sometimes a nightmare of "My vacation is ruined" vs "Who cares?"

Im much more interested in what beer got you to 2500 on Untapped. I feel like I have been going forever and haven't even 2000 yet.

You are right! Beer is much more interesting.

My 2500th was pretty pedestrian. It was a Sam Adams Black Lager from the Taste of Fall variety pack.

Not sure where you're located, but I'm lucky enough to be in central NC where Raleigh, Asheville, Wilmington, and Charlotte are all within 4 hours. My town of 20k has 4 breweries and 3 bottle shops just by itself.

So for me, just looping through a few breweries within an hours drive and doing a couple of flights with my wife would net 20-30 new beers in a weekend. One long weekend to Asheville we racked up 95 beers in three days (all flights of course).

I also almost never have the same beer twice except for some favorites.

Wisconsin...Although I live near Milwaukee, I spend far too much time at Central Waters...If you haven't had their stuff, be sure to look it up. They won for NA beer of the year in 2016 from Ratebeer for Ardea Insignis. I have about a case of it aging away in my basement.

I'll be sure to mark it down. Thanks for the recommendation.

Our super local brewery, Aviator, probably distributes out to your area. If you like hops...especially hops in beer that shouldn't be hoppy...they are the brewery for you. Otherwise, you may want to steer clear. None of our other super local breweries distribute that far. However, if you see something from NC, let me know! I have no idea what makes it out of the state and what doesn't.

We've never been forced to make detailed travel plans by Disney, you can still very much have a go with the flow vacation

That's a load of bantha manure.

If you are a regular visitor, sure, but for the average guest who is trying to get the experience Disney advertises? Not a chance.

Any semblance of that argument even being entertained flew out the window with Be Our Guest - if you want to even cross the bridge to look at the dang building you have to have a months out reservation. And the changes since then - FP+, deposit on dining reservations, etc. - it's not even sensible to say that a "go with the flow" vacation is possible for a regular guest - particularly those that follow Disney's prescribed "stay-on-site, we'll pick you up and drop you off, you don't need a vehicle" recommendations.

I've had a lot of practice through the years at doing that particular motion for periods of time...

^THIS. It was one of the things we loved about a WDW vacation. As regular visitors we could just do what we felt like doing. We didn't really have to do a lot of planning because we knew the parks so well.

Today we are forced to plan. Then we feel compelled to follow the plan. If you deviate from the plan, you are punished. You will likely find yourself standing in a very long line or eating a cheeseburger from a counter service location.

Overall it's a much different experience and much less relaxing and enjoyable. If it wasn't for Disney's pricing tiers that encourage multi-day passes, I would just buy passes for a few days - plan those days to the second and then spend the other days exploring Orlando and just doing what I feel like doing. But that doesn't really make sense when you compare pricing between a 3-day and 7-day passes. :(

Funny how many day of FPs are often available and ADRs are available. What would you do if they took it all away? You DONT have to plan every minute.

People act as if you can't ride something without a FP.

True, but you might be waiting in line for an hour or so and eat at one of the less popular restaurants, unless you want to wait an hour for a table.

Yeah, but you waited in line before FP and waited for a table before ADRs, no? I get what you're saying though. And many with ADRs still have to wait a fair amount of time. And what happens if they still had the old paper FP machines? You stroll into Epcot around noon and haul it all the way to Norway only to find out, sorry, no more Frozen Ever After passes are left. So you get in standby. Yeah, standby lines are longer now because of FP but it's not like you can't ride without a FP. ADRs are a bit different and I understand wanting to know you have a spot at your favorite popular restaurant but I've seen many available spots day of so that tells me you don't necessarily HAVE to book 180 days out. I don't like that they even have that option, same with FP+. It should be day of for FP and 30 days for an ADR.

EDIT: Just checked dining for a party of 5 for dinner time and 47 restaurants popped up. Plenty of choices.

And attendance was a lot lower back then.
