Trip Report Everything Is Just So Peachy Keen! *COMPLETED*

It certainly was for us Georgia peaches this last week! For those who may be new here, let us introduce ourselves. We are Tuvalu and Em, a mother-daughter duo who love traveling together to Walt Disney World. We take multiple trips per year (this was our third for 2022) and for us, time spent at our resort is just as important to us as time spent in the parks. Slow-paced relaxation is vital to us!

I’m sure this laid-back vibe is what draws people to cruises: pools, bars, a variety of restaurants and activities from which to choose . I can’t do ships. But I can happily “land cruise” at WDW!

I only go on it after telling DH, “Do not touch that wheel and make us go faster! Or, you will be carrying me out.” I get too woozy. Plus, I close my eyes most of the time so why bother!

It was 9:10 am. Haunted Mansion had been officially open for ten minutes. The queue was empty but there were guests coming from the exit, which we took to be a good sign that the ride was operating.

Indeed it was! Both in color

and in black and white.

A round of applause for Em “nailing it.”

(At least our ride photo appeared today.)

Now the reason for the pet cemetery pics? No idea.

We’d not ridden the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness yet. The line was too long for our liking the other day. It was still early, so we thought we’d give it a try.

I hope Disney never gets rid of Tom Sawyer Island, even though it’s been many years since our last visit.

The sign said 25 minutes. I think they added the 2 by mistake.

We literally kept walking down to the load zone without stopping. We only had to wait for one train cycle.

Now the reason for the pet cemetery pics? No idea.

Both the pet cemetery and TSI are great reminders to slow down and enjoy the moment. So many rush from ride to ride but I love soaking in the details.

Thus far we were having great luck with low standby wait times.

“Are you okay with getting wet?” I asked Em as we neared Splash Mountain.

“Sure,” she replied.

We both thought we’d had our last “last ride” on Splash on Sunday. But we never got our ride photo, and I really wanted “official” documentation of our final ride.

The line might look daunting, but we went from ride entrance to BIL (butts in log) in 20 minutes.

We passed this on the ground.

Emergency poncho? As opposed to those times when it’s not an emergency?


Here’s one of my favorite effects that I will miss after the refurb.

It was a great ride and we didn’t get very wet.

And later that day, I was happy to see this in MDE.

Although we totally failed at making a heart!

Do you know when they are closing Splash for the refurb. I tried looking but sifting through over 300 pages of people arguing and getting off topic made me give up. I'll be attending a Christmas party with my girls and am hoping it will still be running.

Splash usually goes down for an annual refurb in January. I'd bet they'll take it down at the usual time, and keep it closed for the refurb., since it's scheduled to open in 2024.

I love all the lanterns and bird houses hanging in the trees in the Splash queue! We were lucky enough that our last park day was the first day it reopened after refurb in January. Our last time to ride

I will actually be in town the weekend "your" friend will be at a possible party. Due to the guests that will be with me we will be spending time at Universal that weekend. My girls and I will be attending Mickey's party on the 4th. Maybe you'll have some tips/tricks to share since I've never been to the Christmas parties before.

After leaving Splash Mountain, Em and I returned back the way we’d came. We had mobile ordered lunch at a Fantasyland quick serve but still had some time before our window opened.

We knew we’d have a longer wait than we had earlier. But…..Mansion.

Turns out we didn’t have to queue through the graveyard!

Just as we boarded our doom buggy, playful spooks stopped the omnimover and we had to wait for a reset.

….which wasn’t needed since our ride photo did appear in MDE. Em once again nailed it.

Me on the other hand

Apparently I was offering my neck to the ghost of Dracula.
