More good news for Disney/ESPN as they are again expanding the ammount of games televised.

ESPN has been great for the number of games televised and this is another step to making every game available at some point in the future through these type partnerships. :)

The other networks need to jump in and make deals or they will be left in ESPN's dust.

From the wording, it sounds like this isn't just about football, although I'm guessing that will be the biggest part of it, probably along with some conference tournament coverage heading into March Madness during basketball season.

I doubt you'll ever see the day when every college football game is widely available on TV (that would be literally hundreds of games), but this sounds like an interesting move for a niche market.

I agree, not on traditional TV. But every game will be readily available through streaming technology in the not to distant future.

We are living in amazing times. :)

Wouldn't there be a point of diminishing returns on TOO many games televised? ESPN has to pay the school for the rights to broadcast the games. That figure isn't likely to change as I think it is set by the conferences. However, the revenues from the games WILL diminish as the market gets saturated.

I think you will see these deals done on a conference by conference basis. When you consider the built in audiences (current and past alums and local communities) most teams have a loyal fan base. They already stream audio for each team so it is a matter of adding a common televised feed.

I don't think ESPN will necessarily have a deal with everyone but someone likely will.

The trend is ever increasing content on-line and I can't see anything that would stop the trend. All televisions will also be able to stream content without extra hardware someday too.

So, that is exciting if you think about it.
