So I played the demo on Switch and it looks and plays fine. I saw a tip to turn off motion blur to fix some framerate stuff and beyond that it’s good. I’m not sure if I care too much to get it on the Steam Deck just to look prettier especially since I can get 15% off the physical Switch version due to working in retail.

Have they confirmed whether this game will be Steam Deck verified? I can't imagine it not being suitable for the deck but I planned on getting this to play on my flight to Japan later this year.

I just played the demo a bit just to see the difference and it worked fine enough. I’m still going to go with the Switch version. The “downgrade” isn’t a deal breaker for me.

Have you not played the game before?

Oh no I’ve religiously played the original just want a chance to hop on the game without having watched any prior playthroughs. Gotta experience those new graphics for the first time myself just as I did with the original over a decade ago, can’t wait to see what they’ve done with the environments

Fair. I wanted to get it on Steam as I would rather bring my deck than my Switch for the flight so I was just wondering if it would run fine on the deck.

I haven't played the original since it initially released on the Wii and this version looks great. I have confidence since this team also did Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated (which did have some performance issues on my PC but nothing game breaking. Only a few FPS drops.)

Picked up the pre-order today and the store didn't have any extra copies/ Sorry that's not much of a help. Maybe see if any stores have a wait list as Amazon is sold out except for the $360 collector boxes

Oh no I got that 1 copy I was just wondering if anyone else had a bit of trouble lol

Pro graphical tip: Go to the settings and hit “reset to default.” For some reason the game comes with the gamma setting set above what the actual default is. I knew the game looked weirdly washed out in the demo and it wasn’t until now that I realized this little quirk. Now the colors look much more like how they did on the Wii.

I’m loving everything except the load times so far lol.

Here’s one change I love: every area stays however you left it. If you painted in all of Mean Street it stays painted until you thin it yourself no matter how many times you leave. My thinner playthrough will be interesting indeed lol.

Oh wow!! I’m in Ostown right now & had to thin everything to search for the telephone boxes, was wondering if it all stays the same upon your return that’s great to know they implemented that

Bit of an update regarding the physical copy situation. At least in my store we only ever received two: one for Switch and one for PS5. As of yesterday the PS5 copy is apparently still in stock. Unless this game is doing gangbusters digitally I’m fearing the chances of getting a new game. I know this is only my store but such low stock is likely a sign that the publisher didn’t expect it to sell well.

Also I’ve started my thinner playthrough

Started my third playthrough to get the final pin. I’m going all paint again except for the one choice I need to make. I’ve really enjoyed revisiting this old Wii favorite
