Epcot rumor per Jim Hill...

As far as Epcot goes, just reopen the WoL pavilion and give me a new version of Body Wars (complete with Elizabeth Shue, of course), and I'll be a happy camper.

No thank you! Body Wars was the only ride that truly made riders nauseous. Getting stuck just outside the heart, with the resultant back and forth....and back and forth ,,,,and back and forth....:depressed:

It could be a situation like Mission: Space (more intense version) and the unfortunately short-lived Alien Encounter. It wouldn't be a ride for everyone, but it could provide a fun (and educational) attraction for those who want it. Also... did I mention Elizabeth Shue?

Is this a new effort to get ahead of possible blockbusters so there is not so much lag time between the movie and the attraction?
They've always been doing this. Look at DickTracy Crime Stoppers, for example, that never happened. Even Tron was intended to go next to Space Mountain, in the MK. That movie didn't do as well as expected and the attraction was cancelled until Shanghai picked it up.

In my opinion, they should have built Tron any way.

I am not sure that a Coco overlay for Caballeros would really help capacity issues at FEA. Some people headed for FEA might detour to Coco, but then they will be back in line for FEA. However, what do people specifically going to Coco do next? Since they are already in the area, many of them will probably join the queue for FEA.

Exactly. If Frozen hasn't had any effect on the Gran Fiesta Tour, why will it suddenly be popular with Coco? I'm not convinced that a pixar film would make it that much more popular. If they added a second ride to Mexico instead of refurbing, I assume it might help slightly..but I have no idea if that is doable.

because it will be something new...that's all.. everyone is curious about something new....and maybe they wold put a little more story and thought into an attraction based on the new film... It would sure be nice if they did...

How did I never know, until your post right now, that Elizabeth Shue was a part of this ride? Adventures in Babysitting and Back to the Future secured a major crush for me on Shue back in the 80's.....

Thank you for this info.....

They need to combine Body Wars with the Making of Me and have it star Elizabeth Shue.

Or maybe that girl from Sharknado. :geek:

I've been looking up stuff about the movie, and honestly, unlike Frozen, it looks like it might not be such a bad fit for Mexico. I'll wait until I see the movie, and then eventually the ride, before judging. It all depends what the ride is about, if it even winds up happening, of course. But I am cautiously optimistic about this right now.

And I generally like the Three Caballeros version so it's not like I'm gung-ho about any change to the ride.

I've heard the complaint that they shouldn't create high demand for a low capacity attraction like they did in Norway. But I think the Mexico ride actually has quite a high capacity, no? Does anyone have a number? I imagine it's at least over 2000. Regardless, I think it's better than operating a ride that frequently runs empty.

Alice in Wonderland underperformed at its initial box office release, but that didn't stop Walt from including a dark ride and spinner at DL. A good attraction is a good attraction.

A Coco ride could work, but instead of relying on an overlay to solve FEA capacity issues, Disney should look to add attractions to other pavilions on the other side of WS. Surely Canada can have more than a film. What about that bullet train simulator for Japan? There need to be more rides to spread and divert crowds instead of concentrating them at two neighboring pavilions.

YES!!! They need to stop thinking about overlays to existing attraxctions and build a new attraction....that is what EPCOT needs! What about the Germany attraction that was never built? The UK Attraction unbuilt? The Japan Attraction unbuilt? The entire Equatorial Africa pavilion that was unbuilt?... there were so many things already planned that they have just never funded, if they picked up these projects and completed them, not only would there be no capacity problems, but EPCOT might end up bing the most popular park at the WDW resort...
