How is the bus transportation to DAK and MK from the EPCOT area Resorts? I know the plus to these resorts is walking distance to EPCOT ( of course ) and DHS.
From the moderate or value resorts, it can be a little taxing. This is because those resorts don't just have one bus stop, but a number of them as they go through their internal bus route before they leave and head to the park. So travel time can be longer than it is from a deluxe resort. It also works the same taking the bus back from the parks.....particularly at night the ride can drag until you reach your stop.
We stayed at YC in 2012 and found the bus service to be excellent...rarely waiting more than 5 min. We used the BW and BC buses quite a bit this last trip to get from pt A to B. The BW bus from AK (so we could get to Epcot fr F&W) was pretty good- wait around 10 min and we were the first stop. Used the BC bus several time to go Epcot to MK at park closing since we didn't want to fight the crowds at the main entrance. I think avg wait time for the BC bus to MK was 5 min and got us back to MK very quickly.
I stayed at the Boardwalk last June and for the most part the busses worked out! It's a fairly short ride to everything on property. The only compaint I had was one day when waiting for a bus for Blizzard Beach, we waited almost 50 minutes before just saying "Screw it" and got on a bus to Typhoon Lagoon instead. All I'd say is make sure you give yourself enough time if you have reservations or something that's time sensitive.
They are less than ideal. I stay at the BC regularly and the buses leave much to be desired. I usually take a cab to the Contemporary and walk to MK to avoid the buses. On the way home from MK, BC/YC and Boardwalk sometimes share buses which is annoying at the end of a long night.
