EPCOT in one day?

Hello all,

We are a group of 8 adults visiting Orlando this weekend. We have an event to attend on Saturday so we are left with only one day to explore EPCOT. Can we finish all/most of it in one day or is one day too much? Any particular order to follow in order to miss the crowd? Since we are all foodies, we were planning to eat snacks and drink our way through Around the World. Any suggestions or recommendations regarding "not-to-miss" places/food?

The most concerning issue is the weather. Weather forecast shows 70% chances of rain during Day on Friday. Is it advisable to go on such a day? Any help/advice is highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Uday

I don't think you'll truly be able to see it all in one day. It seems like you all have already decided to focus your interests in the World Showcase, and that's a great idea! I would really spend time soaking that section of the park in, and enjoying the food and drink there, as well as the films and attractions. Then, perhaps you could pick a few things outside of WS you'd like to see if you have the time. You can definitely get through The Seas with Nemo and Friends quickly (the ride, I mean) and then spend time exploring the stuff in there, or move over to The Land and try to hop on Soarin'! Are you staying on property? If so, get those dining reservations! Also, you could probably very easily hop on Spaceship Earth on your way out, in my experience b/c of the way the ride is designed there's never a long wait. Hope this helps!

I would go no matter what. Start at 9am in future world. I would do Test Track, Soarin', Living with the land, Spaceship Earth, Mission Space and see what time it is. In Future World which opens at 11am, I like starting in Mexico and everyone must have a Margarita in Mexico at a Cava which I just found out opens at noon. From there explore and relax just snacking and drinking beer. Gotta try a turkey leg in America, sake in Japan, slushies in France, Guiness in UK or a boddingtons, pastries in France, and sushi in Japan!! Good Luck and have a blast! If you follow this board often you will read lots of great advice!!

First, welcome to the boards! You won't be able to do all of EPCOT in one day, but depending on how early/late you are there and the size of the crowds you should be able to get a lot of it done. Future world opens before world showcase, so I would suggest getting to the park as soon as it opens and head straight for Soarin' as the lines get very long later in the day. While you're over in the Land pavilion, if you're interested in riding Living with the Land it should be a walk on, then I'd do the Living Seas and of course Journey into your Imagination. I'd then head over to Mission Space/Test Track and grab a fastpass for whichever has the longer wait and then depending on the lines I'd jump in the shorter of the two standbys. I would skip Universe of Energy unless you wanna take a 45 minute break from the rain, but seeing as you only have one day I'd just do the main attractions. By now world showcase should be opening, I always start in Mexico and walk around clockwise but thats just because I love margaritas and I don't feel like I'm in disney until I have one. In Mexico they have the grand fiesta tour that is usually a walk on, and you HAVE to try the Margarita bar inside the pavilion, they have a huge selection of different margaritas, the blood orange and the jalapeno are delicious! They also have a stand outside of the pavilion that sells a great fiesta frozen margarita. Moving on to Norway if Maelstrom doesn't have a long line I'd do that, if it does you could grab a fastpass or just skip it. Next up China, I avoid the movie because it makes me extremely sick, but inside the pavilion is beautiful! If you have a sweet tooth, I'd stop at the Karamelle-Kuche in Germany, if not you could always grab a pretzel, they are delicious! In Italy you could grab a quick bite at either the pizza place or the wine cellar, and they have a wine/margarita stand. I'm going to sound like a horrible American, but I hate the American Adventure show so I tend to skip that unless I want a nap in the a/c. If you like Sake they have a tasting bar in Japan, if there is a performance of the drummers or the candy maker I'd stick around to see those. Next is Morocco, I tend to just walk past through it pretty quickly. In France you could check out the newly renovated bakery for a snack. They have a film, but again it makes me sick so I've only seen it once. You must try either the Gray Goose or Grand Mariner slush they sell in the kiosk, both are delicious! If you like music, check out The British Revolution in the United Kingdom. Finally you arrive in Canada you can watch Off Kilter as you pass. Now you're back at future world, on your way out of the park you can ride Spaceship Earth.

A most joyous welcome to you! Be there 1 hour before opening it's a holiday weekend so it will be a little busy. You won't be able to do everything but you will do a lot!! Figure out what you want to do most and focus on that and you should be fine! Quite a bit of EPCOT is indoors so it is actually a great place to be on a rainy day! Relax and have fun!!

I wouldn't try to do all of EPCOT in one day, but if you want to spend the entire day there, I'd be there when it opens, and go directly to Soarin and get a fast pass. Then I'd walk over to test track and do that. Then go on Space ship earth and possibly Mission space. By then your FP should be ready for Soarin. Now it's time for lunch so mosey on over to Mexico, have some tequila and margaritas at La Cava, maybe lunch at La Hacienda, and begin the wonderous journey around World Showcase. Make sure to really explore each pavillion. Don't miss the American Adventure and the Voices of Liberty. If you want, make dinner reservations at Restaurant Marrakesh(a hidden gem in Morocco). Stop and have drinks as you go around, enjoying the shows and rides where they have them. Then catch Illuminations and you will have had a great day at Epcot.

As others have said, you likely won't do "everything", but it's still totally worth going for a day. If you're a big ride fan, then follow durangojim's instructions and hit all the Future World stuff before World Showcase opens (even if you're not big into rides, you still need to at least do Soarin - hit it first or grab a fast pass). Then, if it were me, I'd take a leisurely stroll around the showcase. I second the tip re the Morocco restaurant - it's great!

Be sure and grab a good spot early for Illuminations - there are plenty of places around the showcase, but we like the terrace behind the Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the UK pavilion, or the bridge between UK and France.

Well- my must dos are Spaceship Earth, Mission Space, Test Track ( fast pass), The Land, Soarin ( fast pass needed), and a walk around World Showcase w/ a stop @ Maelstrom in Norway and boat ride in Mexico. I would just do a quick service meal either @ Sunshine Seasons ( great salads) or one of the countries. Have fun!:D

For us, it is breakfast at cape may to fuel up for the day. Enter fromthe back entrance, hit a few countries, then off to FW. FPS are not as bad to get as years past. Always just stroll around and shop, hit a few rides, then off to WS for food tour. Back to fw late evening forsome more thrills, and then finishnback at ws for drinks and fireworks.
