I was recently informed that in the middle of October HISTA will no longer offer Fastpass's.....

I'm not sure if it is a complete permanent removal or become seasonal- (ala "Living with the Land")

Also, sorry to tease somewhat more..... I recently discovered proposed plans for a re-design of the "Living with the Land" queue with the Fastpass machines completely removed but even more exciting.....

I found a plan for Soarin with the machines completely removed as well.....I witnessed these first hand.

Enjoy, more to come.......

well i certainly don't believe that fastpasses will be taken out at soarin- I just found it interesting that there was a proposal for maybe some distant future, haha

however the evidence for the death of fastpasses at HISTA in october is that-you'll see them go away in mid october, ta da :D

I wonder if they're relocating them to an easier to access area outside the pavilion? It would be quite nice if they went away though.

Ideally, they would just get rid of FastPass altogether. If not, a spot outside of the pavilion for the kiosks would be great, as long as they didn't ruin the look of the entrance to The Land.

I did notice the other day while I was at EPCOT that the digital return time display was removed from the HISTA FastPass station.

In light of the recent "Charging for fastpasses" thread this is interesting. I would imagine that if they did start charging for them that they would no longer need the machines.

For Soarin', I hope so. Whilst it makes sense to have the machines at the entrance to the ride it just doen't work here. There are always far, far to many people in that area. Moving it outside would redice congestion massively.

As for HISTA, couldn't really care less. To be honest I'm amazed that anyone ever thought that this was worthy of a FP. I've seen it once at DLP and never bothered since. Other than Philharmagic, very few 3D movie attractions do anything for me.

You would think that keeping the FP machines at the entrance ot Soarin' would keep people in the pavillion. It not only helps crowd control around the parks by swallowing a decent amount of people. Also when people have to go all the way to the entrance of Soarin' to get a FP they'll realize they were hungry too and will buy food.

I think moving the Soarin' fast passes outside would result in the lines for Living with the Land dropping significantly.

That's what I was thinking. Though they machines might be a little bit of a hassle to get to, it brings in a lot of people into the Land. I don't see them moving it.

I agree. It's the same thing as Innoventions in EPCOT. It wouldn't get as many people if M:S and TT didn't have FP. Same effect at Innov. in DL. If it weren't for Space Mountain having FP, Innov. would be a dead zone.

They're "FP return time killer" attractions

As of yesterday (October 1st) the HISTA fastpasses are officially no longer being distributed and are listed as being "temporarily down" in the Epcot tell-a-cast!

I guess temporarily could mean till christmas or could mean a year and a half, who knows....
