I am definitely looking forward to Epcot Forever.

I really didn't see the connection between illuminations and Epcot. Not knocking it - i've seen it many times and watched the Live stream last night and it's just a little random for me.

i never understood the "fire" on the lake. Does anyone know the meaning to that? or just for ambiance?

Big Bang when the earth was started. ILLUMINATIONS 1988 highlighted the countries in WS. Maybe Epcot Forever will give a nod to that?

Good evening. On behalf of Walt Disney World — the place where dreams come true — we welcome all of you to Epcot, and World Showcase. We’re gathered here tonight, around the fire — as people of all lands have gathered for thousands and thousands of years before us — to share the light, and to share a story. An amazing story as old as time itself, but still being written. And though each of us has our own individual stories to tell, a true adventure emerges when we bring them all together as one. We hope you enjoy our story tonight: Reflections of Earth. (Blows out the lights.)

Can’t wait for Epcot forever. I’m going on August and November so I’ll see both

I wish WDWmagic had a eye rolling option. I had to stop reading after page 5. I think it looks good. I'm also going to wait to see it before I judge it. It has to be better than Illuminations, I got bored and just walked around world showcase as it was going on.
If you keep reading you may see that most of us are pretty excited about this show, even those of us who love RoE. :) Sorry you didn’t like RoE yourself.

Exactly, except worse. What a steaming pile of IP crap that preview was. What happened to the Imagineers of old? Are they being stifled? This show will be hot garbage.

I agree with so many others. Especially 'zipitidoda' : "Good! I had to stop reading.... I couldn't go on for 10 more pages, glad the opinions turned around. I think it'll be great!"

If they can only do one heck of a finale for the last show similar to the American Pryotechnics Association's presentation "Welcome to Our World" For the last Night of Illuminations where it's so hard hear even the music......I would be pleased...

Good to know the meaning! Thank you! I hope they highlight more of the WS (with or without IPs)!

Yeah, as with many of the concepts Epcot was originally built on, the idea behind Illuminations has always been a little bit abstract.

It was kind of hard to miss what they were going for with Illuminations 1988 but Reflections of Earth was probably the most on-the-nose for what it was meant to be about due to the video on the globe. That said, if you can't actually make out everything you're seeing on the globe (a real problem due to the technical and distance limitations imposed by what they had to work with when the globe was first built nearly 20 years ago), I can see where a lot of it would be confusing.
