Epcot has set up all the booths for the wine and garden festival. There are also refurb walls located around the world showcase advertising something good is coming.

Spaceship Earth has nothing inte the aftershow part of the building. Just refurb walls with nothing on them, the room is very dark, very un disney like and NO GIFT SHOP!

MGM Streets of America, NYC landscape has some building missing and steel structures are showing.

The former Earth Station has been that way for years....ever since AT&T dropped the sponsorship

The steel structures are supposed to show in the Streets of America.....

The refurb walls in World Showcase are for the larger Food and Wine areas....one it between Germany and Africa, the other is between Morrocco and France.

The steel he is talking about is not supposed to show. he is talking about the skyline backdrop where some of the buildings have been removed for rehab. You can see pictures of this in my WDW update located in the News and Rumors forum.

As for the wall at the exit to SSE, it has been there a while now. However they did recently put on some designs to make it better blend in with other walls in the room and installed a series of lights at the top. The changed make the wall seem much more permanent.

You think that they could atleast put a gift shop in the old Global Neighborhood. And the steel beams in the streets of america are supposed to show, since its supposed to look like a movie set.

What exactly do you sell from a ride that is about communications? Telephones?

As I pointed out in the post above yours, the steel beams he is talking about ARE NOT supposed to show. As you can see in the photo below two of the buildings have been removed as part of the on-going rehab of the Streets of America. The steel beams seen in in this photo are not supposed to show.

We are talking about disney world here, there are several things they could sell in that location. It doesn't just have to be a communication theme shop, but if it were I'm sure walkie talkies would be a great idea. Its just a shame to see a huge sppace not being used, they should move the photo shop (located in the front) inside SE.

And I apologize for giving old news, I am on this site a few times a week and just never saw it plus I always like to hear what other people see when they visit so I thought i would share my experience.

Since the price of the family radios have come down a long way in price, they might like to sell them with Disney desgins on them so family can use them to keep in touch. But mind you everyone and their brother seemed to have them and all the channels were taken. With a two mile radius for transmission I was lucky at time to get from the fountain in Disney Studios (by the events board) to the turnstiles. I couldn't hear the other person until they were 10 yards away and she was yelling on it. :lookaroun

If they were smart they would have some Synergy going with Disney Consumer Products and have a Disney Mobile themed store since Disney is now in the cell phone/ring tone biz.And why they are at it they should showcase some of their newer Disney electronics such as new tvs, computers, radios etc-everything to do with communications that would tie in with SSE theme.

Wow...those steel beams arent supposed to show for sure! I wonder what they are doing to the buildings? One of my last nights there, my best friend and I went behind the little guards and took pictures. It looks really cool being up close to the small buildings they have for forced perspective. I also wonder what is going on behind the blue contruction wall. Isnt NYNews behind there? That wasnt open anyway. I miss NYStreet. It was my home. =)

Oh, I see what you mean. That's terrible! I know they rehabbing it, but that's just bad show.

As for the shop? Well, there's plenty of the Figment mood calenders to go around.

Well how else do you propose they rehab the buildings. They can't but up a 40 foot construction wall. Not to mention the fact that on New York Street it really isn't out of place unless you know what it is supposed to look like, after all it is supposed to be a studio backlot. I really don't think you should call this bad show, it is rather necessary every now and then.

its interesting u mention the walls after u exit spaceship earth... i was there in April and they were up... they are either doing something big or are just leaving it empty for the time being... who knows only time will tell

Hehe, people complain when there are gift shops at the end of every ride....they complain when there aren't.

Sometimes, Disney really can't win. ;)

Give the entire company to me. I'll straighten it out...

And bankrupt them at the same time... :lookaroun
