Enchanted Extras

Hello everyone,

We recently received our Walt Disney World welcome packet and noticed that Enchanted Extras reservations open at the same time as dining reservations.

We're thinking about booking the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. I know opinions vary on its value, so I'm not looking to start that debate. Instead, I'd like to learn more about the tour experience itself.

Because it's a group tour, I'm curious about the walking pace. Is it fairly relaxed, or should participants expect a lot of fast-paced walking? I'm not as quick as I used to be, and I'd hate to be the one making everyone wait for Grandpa to catch up. On the other hand, I also don't want to spend the whole tour trying to keep up and missing the opportunity to enjoy it.

I'd also love to hear recommendations for any other Enchanted Extras that are particularly memorable.

The tour is a wonderful experience made better depending on the CM tour guide you get. Some are better than others on how they interact and respond to the guests. The more interest and participation the guests have, the more you can get out of it. Depending on how much you know about Disney, you may or may not learn new information about the parks and attractions. Have no worries about your walking ability. You walk at a relaxing pace, everyone can keep up and the guide makes sure you are staying together. The utildors are the thing most people are excited to see. You will probably be underwhelmed once you visit them.
The tour is well worth the money you will be handing over to Disney.
Over the years we've done most of the extras Disney offers and I can't say we regret doing any of them. They all are put together well and Disney does give a nice variety of experiences. Again the difference is in the CM you get. Most have been very interactive and knowledgable but there have been a few we've wondered how Disney allowed them to lead a tour.

How exciting! The little enchantment is something you can always say, "We did that!" You'll have lovely memories. If you kindly tell your CM guide that you aren't too speedy, they'll know to watch you for a comfortable pace and discreetly make accommodations. I have trouble hearing in crowds and some spaces, but I hate pressing in front of a group to hear the tour guide. My husband or I will usually quietly let them know before the tour begins, and the good guides will typically try to arrange themselves near me so I'm not having to push in on people. Sometimes when they let people wonder around to check stuff out, they'll come to me to see if I would like anything repeated. I feel confident that they will be happy to make sure you are comfortable, in addition to the tour being intended for all to enjoy.

If you are interested in other tours/enchantments, I would love to recommend one of my favorites, Behind the Seeds. It is at EPCOT in the Land Pavilion and it takes you behind the scenes of Living with the Land attraction. The attraction is looking gorgeous btw, a tour right now would be incredible. It is a low key tour and designed for all to enjoy. Click on the blue text for a link to WDW website to see it.

Another enchantment that will fascinate is Drawn to Life, a Cirque du Soliel show in Disney Springs. They mostly have evening shows, but then you can get dinner at DS and make it a romantic date night.

When they day it opens at the same time as dining reservations, they do indeed open at 60 days out and for length of stay for onsite guests.

But be aware that booking for most of them open at midnight EST.

The exceptions are those that are just special dining.
