That's a bit of a leap. I don't know if they've used this anywhere other than Japan, but either way Disney has produced similar trailers from time to time to introduce their new animated features as part of a longer tradition.

Correct, Tangled (movie #50) got one like this too.
It should be noted that the numbered list varies country to country. USA/Japan appear to be the same.
Encanto is currently at a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes with 21 reviews.

If things continue, then Disney animated has yet another winner on its hands.
I can't help but to wonder what would happen if they take the successful storytelling model of Disney animated and Pixar and apply it to live action movies. Doesn't have to be musical. Look at Raya and the Last Dragon which still has a 94%.
Could Disney tap into some of that writing talent to create new live action stories/sagas? Would they be as well received? Would they be as successful?

Disney's 'Eternals', 'Encanto', 'The Last Duel', 'West Side Story', 'The King's Man' and 'Ron's Gone Wrong'' will Hit Theaters Ahead Of Streaming Bow.
The salient part for those who don't like reading or math:
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Encanto will bow November 24 with a 30-day exclusive theatrical window before appearing on Disney+.
- Nov 24 + 30 days = Dec 24, Christmas Eve on D+.
Five other pics will have a 45-day exclusive run in cinemas:
- The Last Duel (October 15) +45 = Nov 19 on D+
- Ron’s Gone Wrong (October 22) +45 = Dec 6 on D+
- Eternals (November 5) +45 = Dec 10 on D+
- West Side Story (December 10) +45 = Jan 24 on D+
- The King’s Man (December 22) +45 = Feb 5on D+
This is all assuming that these go immediately to D+ when their theatrical window closes... which hasn't always been the case.

Isnt the 20th Century and HBO Max deal still in place domestically causing Last Duel, Ron’s Gone Wrong and at least West Side Story to go there prior to Disney+/Hulu?

True. And I would assume that Last Duel and King’s Man wouldn’t go to Disney+ even when Disney has the streaming rights. Those are more likely for Hulu. (Obviously I’m talking about US; other countries with integrated Star will likely get them.)

Right, this seems like another Shang-Chi situation. Just because Disney could release a film on D+ on a set date based on the announced theatrical window doesn’t mean they will. Has there been an sort of official announcement from Disney?

An update to this!
Disney, WarnerMedia Carve Up Fox Film Slate Streaming Rights Through End of 2022 (EXCLUSIVE)
Disney and WarnerMedia amended their Fox film output agreement, which runs through the end of 2022, to share some streaming rights.

Starting with Ron's Gone Wrong all 20th Century films remaining in 2021 will be shared at the same time by Disney+/Hulu and HBO Max.
Ron's Gone Wrong will hit both streaming services on December 15th. Giving the film about a 55 day exclusivity window in theaters; maybe this is is the window that more movies will follow? The film didn't set the box office on fire, and thus could be a good estimate for most films outside of Encanto which is being rushed onto the service.
This deal means that West Side Story will likely debut sometime in February on Disney+/HBO Max, and The King's Man also likely sometime in February on likely Hulu/HBO Max.
Encanto shows up on D+'s recently listed December schedule for Dec 24.
Ron's Gone Wrong isn't on the Dec list, but a separate article says it will hit D+ on Dec 15.
The Last Duel and Eternals hasn't made it to any schedule list or any streamer yet.

Fantastic film. Great story, awesome performances (Stephanie Beatriz is a total gem), & awesome Lin-Manuel Miranda songs. I haven't been horribly impressed with a lot of Disney's recent film output, especially the remakes, but they've been really knocking it out of the park when it comes to animation. Definitely go check it out.
