I’m still holding out hope that Coco takes over El Rio de Tiempo someday. A minor carousel in AK will do fine for now.

As currently designed, it is a Coco-inspired carousel ride.

I’d much prefer a second Coco attraction built onto the Mexico pavilion, so that El Rio/Gran Fiesta can be the relaxing time-spender while folks wait for their Coco VQ’s/LL’s.

There’s a good size pad of land directly behind Norway’s Royal Summerhaus…looks like a parking area and a couple of office buildings.

Coco deserves a AAA attraction, not just a hand-me-down of a hand-me-down.

The theater being officially incorporated into the land and getting a Coco show would be such a no brainer

A thrill ride, a dark ride, an indoor musical show and a spinner would make this the most complete land at DAK
It will have that as it is…if Ariel and Nemo have taught me anything, aquatic creatures can show up in any geographic area Disney needs them. Dory can swim into the Gulf of Mexico if we need her to.

Could Coco take over Finding Nemo: The Big Blue and Beyond?
And the images show what looks like a carousel, could it be a stage instead?
Coco was heavily about music, I feel like it's a missed opportunity if they don't feature it that way.
Nemo is safe, at least for this first iteration of Tropical Americas. It’s, of course, always possible they could replace it with a new show later on to fit the land (there are many possible IPs they could go with – e.g., Encanto, Coco, Up, ENG).

In the meantime, it will be interesting to see how they categorize Nemo on the map. Currently, it’s considered part of Dinoland USA, so they may list it as a Tropical Americas attraction, or they could treat it as its own land.

Would you settle for one in DCA?

Maybe it would work as an expansion, but as it stands, the Mexico pavilion is bursting at the seams with extended switchback queue on top of extended switchback queue for the boat ride, the tequila cave, and on the worst days, to even enter the pavilion itself. It doesn't need the boost in popularity, but it could sure use the extra space.

The Pacific borders Latin America and we know that Nemo and company were able to swim from the South Pacific to the San Francisco Bay Area so them appearing in west coast Mexico isn't exactly some stretch.

Its funny. Over on the DL forum, for years Ive been mentioning three things that I feel would help establish DCA as a true quality full day park. Those three things are..

  • Long Family Friendly Boat Ride (I Didn't specifically mention Avatar until Bob first mentioned the "experience" last year)
  • Suspended Coco Ride (it would be an absolute smash at DCA esp considering the guest demo)
  • Indoor Coaster (if only they would put an Avengers themed Cosmic Rewind in Avengers Campus instead of whatever they re planning)
