Emperor's New Groove Attraction

The Emperor's New Groove is one of my favorite Disney movies. I have watched it with my family a dozen times, and it cracks us up every time.

I would like to see an ENG ride or attraction. Maybe a coaster like the one in the movie. It would have to use the original voices of all the movie characters. I don't believe Disney actually has a comedy ride already, do they? Should they put it where 20,000 leagues is maybe?

My wife had to see the movie about three or four times before she really liked it, so if you don't think you like it, you probably need to watch it a few more times.

I hope they'll make a sequel.

I too absolutly loved ENG... Yzma and Kronk were simply hillarious... However... seeing how the movie never did very well *shrug* I doubt they'd have an attraction for it. Heck, its hard enough to find merchandise for the movie. I went into the Disney Villains store, they had practically nothing on Yzma!

Pull the lever Kronk!
*trap door opens* WROOOOOONG LEEEEEEVERRRRRRRRR
*comes back up, with crocodile hanging from dress* Why do we even HAVE that lever???

ENG is a movie that disney will never expand on...it didnt do so well..and as was pointed out above..its near impossible to find merchandice for it...proof that disney would best like to forget about it..heh

That just shows to go you that creativity doesn't always pay. I respect the people that put the effort and money into ENG. I respect ME for paying for it.

It was a risk, and in my opinion a great success. It achieved what it attempted to do. It entertained and broke new ground in terms of animated comedy. The characters are classics.

But, no aliens, no fancy special effects. Just subtle humor and incredible creativity. I predict it will be "re-discovered" in the future, when the world is ready for it.

Stupid world. I think I'm going to go watch it now just for spite.

well after Lilo and Stitch gets on video and DVD you won't see too much merchandise for it. It just has to become a classic movie first. There just isn't a demand for it yet. I think if it's on ABC and Disney Channel people will slowly fall in love with it. If they do make a sequel, which they might, if it's quality then you could see Kuzco in more places but I doubt it will be a ride. Think show in DAK maybe at the Tarzan Rocks Stage.

Just out of curiousity. Why must a movie be popular in order for it to have an attraction made out of it. I see the reasoning behind it, but wouldn't creating a good attraction out of the movie draw attention back to the movie? Wouldn't it possibly expose the movie and characters to a wider audience. These people might then be tempted into watching the movie when they get home and go out and buy/rent it. The Country Bears movie wasn't very popular and was made out of an attraction. This could be the same circumstance with the movie just coming before the attraction.

I'm so glad I found more ENG fans! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: This is an instant CLASSIC! Kronk has to be the funniest Disney character EVER! "Well, I was here, than you showed up, then that guy showed up, now I'm pretty much lost..."

I guess a show would work way better than a ride, but they had to use the original voices (or something VERY close to it) and DEFINATELY the original writers, so the jokes have the same flavor.

TO answer the above question about the popularity being a big factor on it being made into a ride...

Simple...they dont want to have "unpopular" characters supporting any ride..because if people dont like them...chances are they will skip the attraction as well...

I was thinkin the same thing... the little roller coaster in the flick is just SCREAMING to be made into an attraction.

ENG Rocked!!! Literally. I even have the sound track. It's an instant Disney classic for the entire family. When I worked at the Disney Store, we sold TONS of ENG DVD's.

Great Idea!

That would be a great 5th park! Attractions based on bad Disney films! Think of the rides!

Meet the Deedles Park Ranger Log Ride

Cinderella 2 Castle

Jungle to Jungle Cruise

Country Bear Vacation Slow Down

Mr. Toads Wild Ride......Oh Wait......thats been done.

It's only my opinion, but I thought ENG was awesome! It was sooo funny!!!! Something really should be done with the concept...far lesser movies do seem do get alot more attention.

Right now, Emporer's New Groove is one of our "hey nothing's on TV, why don't we watch ______". It's got pretty good company with Harry Potter & the original Men In Black. I'd guess we're watching ENG about 2 or 3 times a week (obsessed?:D ).

I also agree that this movie needs a couple viewings to get you. It just gets funnier and funnier.

This is such a funny movie. My wife and I CONSTANTLY quote it.

Shoulder Devil - "First of all, he's got that stringed instrument thingy"

Shoulder Angel - "We've been over this, it's a harp."

Shoulder Devil - "Right...thats a harp, and that's a dress..."

Shoulder Angel - "ROBE......"

Shoulder Devil - "Whatever..."

(It's early, so I may not have this one exactly correct.)

Kuzco - "Huh....what?...I didn't do anything.....someone's throwing stuff.....are you gonna build a fire or what?....."

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!! :sohappy: :sohappy: :D

IMO the real reason that this movie did so bad in the theaters is the marketing of it. I ususally run out to see a new Disney animated movie the first day it opens. I saw ENG just before it got pulled from the first-run theaters. I absolutely loved it and wished I could have seen it earlier. But everything I had seen on it made it go into my "if I get a chance to" movie catagory.

Now, whenever I get a chance, I recommend for people to rent it. So far everyone who has listened to me and rented it has loved it. They wonder as well why the marketing for it was so bad. Maybe the Disney marketing department just didn't know what to do with it.

Anyway, after my Mom saw it for the first time (on video) she called me up and asked if the animators had followed me around with a tape recorder. It has my same sarcastic wit. Now when she starts to miss me (she lives in MN) she just pops in ENG!

:D

Everyone I've talked to that has seen ENG (not that many) has loved it.
I think an attraction themed after the movie would be awesome. Even if it was just some crazy little ride like pooh, anything to incorporate the new movies.

Can you feel the power?
Kronk: oh yeah.....I feel it
