Either Suites or using one of the DVC point thingys to stay at WDW?

Well that thread title is clear as mud. I have no idea what to call it so I apologize for the confusion and vagueness. My cousin is wanting to plan a trip from Canada (Ontario) to WDW, most likely in May. I always encourage to stay on property but she is in need of "rooms" bc of her kids sleeping styles. I don't really know what that means but basically, a regular hotel room is not an option.

I have stayed at AOA but in a regular room. The suites - how many rooms are there?

Okay - the confusing part - they are looking to not spend an arm and a leg so is there a DVC point rental company that has a good reputation? Is it really a savings rather then booking a DVC suite through WDW directly?

AOA suites are two rooms- master room with a queen bed and bathroom and the front room has a sofa bed and a pull down murphy bed (which is a table when the bed is up). There is also a second bathroom off the front room. Microwave, sink, and small fridge. We stayed with a family of 4 in June and liked the space. I think we were about $235 a night whiche was just over trying to get 2 adjoining value rooms.

For what your cousin wants, DVC rental will be the way to go. While I have never personally used them, David's Vacation Club rentals comes highly recommended.

Multiple bedroom suites do exist at the deluxe resorts, but they are even more brutally priced than cash DVC rooms.

Check out DVC Rental Store as well. Some friends of ours just rented points and compared them with Davids. Apparently, Davids requires that you pay the full cost up front when you book, but these folks will let you pay $8 per point, then pay the rest off by 45 days out. Also, all DVC rentals are non-refundable in my experience, so once you book you are locked in. One more thing to consider - you need to book as far out as possible (preferably no less than 7 months), as the rooms can fill up quickly depending on when and where you are staying.

Most of your on property options have been mentioned. Adjoining rooms, never mind connecting rooms, are never guaranteed with the possible exception of not having enough adults to have 1 in each room with children. AoA family suites, All Star suites, or DVC villas. For instance, value season in January, All Star Suite would cost $202 midweek, AoA suite $252, and 2brdm at OKW through WDW $618, while renting points would be $377 (29 points @$13 per). The amenities at each will differ, so look into exactly what each offer.

DVC point rental will be significantly cheaper than paying cash through WDW directly for a DVC villa. The suites are cheaper than the villas, but don't have the same amenities.

Thanks! They are looking at May so hopefully they will be okay. They are also looking at a private house with a pool.

If you want to go 'all out' there are the three bedroom villas at Old Key West. Two bedrooms upstairs (each with two queens or doubles... don't remember for sure and their own baths) as well as a master suite in the first floor, plus an additional bath. Huge kitchen, dining area, laundry room... fold out couch. It sleeps 10 or 12, I think... but certainly there'd be three separate bedrooms, if that's what you need... it's also very expensive.

We are using DVC Rental Store for our trip in December, and they have been fantastic so far. Not to mention, we saved A LOT. Depending on how this trip goes, I doubt I'll go any other way in the future.
