Early Activation of Package Tickets: Can It Still Be Done If All We Want Is To Use A "Plus" Entitlement?

Curiosity question: I know that early activation of tickets (that is, activating tickets purchased as part of a room-and-ticket package prior to your check-in date) is allegedly no longer allowed, now that tickets are date-based. My question is, what about Parkhopper Plus tickets? Could we have them activated 1 day early if all we want to do is use one of the "Plus" entitlements to play mini-golf or visit a water park (after they reopen)?

Before anyone responds, "you should ask Disney," please know that I already have, and I was given two completely opposite answers. I'm hoping someone might know the real answer, based on their recent experience. Thanks in advance!
