News DVC to add $500 Resale Transfer Fee to all resales beginning in 2026

So they found a way to make money from resale contracts when they decline their ROFR? I wonder if this will impact the resale market at all, although it's still a drop in the bucket compared to the savings vs. buying direct - but it's just 1 more hurdle for buyers who already face a prolonged wait for access to their points given the 30-day ROFR window and the extended wait for DVC to process the transfer once the ROFR is declined. Someone looking to add on 50 points, for example, should now consider the price per point to be $10 higher than what's listed. Do they think that will tip the scales towards people just buying direct or is it just to grab more money? I can't imagine it costs DVC $500 in labor to transfer a contract unless they've hired the sloth from Zootopia to process them.

You just wasted precious minutes of life trying to “analyze” this as if it’s reasonable

It’s just a cash grab and to pattern…

“Can’t get anyone new to big your $&@!? …try to charge the old ones”
