Keith would make a good zombie.

I didn't care for the song. Couldn't even finish listening to it.

Actually just got done listening to it on their Facebook site before coming on here. As someone who just became a HUGE Stones fan a couple of years ago (WHY it took me so long I'll never know), I wasn't sure what to expect. My impression - not great, but not as bad as I thought it would be. I wouldn't turn the station if it came on the car radio or anything like that.

I think a lot of people just know them from the 20 or so old hits played by the classic rock stations. That totally misses all the great stuff they did that was heavily influenced by their love of American blues, jazz and even country. Like with most aging bands they haven't done many new worthwhile songs in a long time, but Doom and Gloom was better than I expected.

Too late stain I read your original comment and this remains as poor as anything they have recorded since MIssYou. My opinion, if thats all right with you.
'Tis indeed allright. I originally had a cleverly-planned crap joke but with poor wording. I'm not the scholar in sophisticated toilet humor. :(

Heading for the great escape.
For the record there is some debate on the merits of said song on the Classic Rock website. Opinion seems divided.

And when it comes to talking pooh I am indeed second only to Mrs Sak

Totally agree with your assessment here. I was always more of a Beatles and Who fan myself. Never really cared much for the Stones for some reason, other than a few of their hits that you could hear on any local classic rock station, like you said. It all changed for me when I caught their documentary "Exile On Main Street" on the television one night a couple of years ago. After watching it, then running out and buying the re-released "Exile on Main St." CD the next day, I was suddenly hooked on the Rolling Stones! I started buying all of their older, pre-70's stuff that Christmas and fell in LOVE with it! They actually made me start appreciating the blues.

Grabbed Keith's book "Life" early last year and took it with me on our March 2011 WDW trip and dove into it during some down time around the pool. Couldn't put it down!! As embarrassed as I am to say this, it was the first REAL book I had read since high school. I finished it off shortly after returning from our trip and all it did was add to my Stones fever! Since then, I've acquired quite a few more Stones CD's, individual solo CD's by the guys, concert blurays, and other memorabilia.

Hard to narrow it down to what my favourite CD of theirs would be. One day it is Sticky Fingers, one day it is Some Girls, one day it is Out of Our Heads...pretty much anything they put out before 1980 would be the easier way to put it I guess. :)

Exile on Main St. is one of their best. Like you say anything before 1980 is worth getting, although there are a few clunkers on Goat's Head Soup and some others. My favorite is Sticky Fingers. "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" is amazing. A friend at work liked Keith's book so I've been meaning to get it.
