Does it Bother Anyone Else?

So recently Disney decided for some reason to remove the trees that lined the path from Liberty Square to Fantasyland.

Out of the all the questionable decisions they've made at Magic Kingdom over the past couple years, this one frustrates/intrigues me the most. Why would they remove trees that don't block a crucial part of the castle or prevent good fireworks viewing? Especially considering the other path from the castle to Fantasyland is still lush:

I just don't understand it. That's why I posted this, to see what you guys think about it. Do you think the change doesn't matter? Or do you lament the seemingly continuing mission to remove all the trees at Magic Kingdom?

Of course it makes me unhappy. The deforestation continues.

Without seeing it in person, I'll hazard a guess they were beginning to encroach on the projection path.

In photos I notice it more than in person. But yes. The lose of landscape giving the castle a villiage around it feel is upsetting.

Looking at the left side of the newer picture, I wonder if the objective was to replace it with smaller trees, with a long range vision of them growing up.

It is probably a necessary evil. The trees that were removed got too tall and ruined the forced perspective and/or over powered the castle which would make the castle seem small. They will hopefully replace them with smaller trees after the hub is finished.

That is why they have the small Christmas trees on both sides at the bottom of the castle to create the illusion that the castle is huge. When those grow larger they will more than likely be replaced too.

We also noticed quite a bit of construction going on the backside of the buildings in the liberty square area which I think is adjacent to where these trees were located.

I've missed some of the trees that have been taken out over the years. It has taken away some of the shady spots thats once had been available to the guests. But I wouldnt say that I'm bothered by it or it makes me angry at Disney for making that decision.

I could care less. Doesn't seem to be that big of a change to me. I can barely even see the different TBH

So for all of you who don't seem to be bothered one way or the other, at what point WILL it become a problem for you? Or will it never matter how much they remove? Need to put those "I don't care" comments in context.

Yes, we'll be discussing this 5 years from now, and yes, you can be sure there'll be less trees then than now.

One bank of projectors is in the upper level of The Christmas Store. It's throw is across Lib Sq bridge and the moat onto the west side of the castle.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. Makes me wonder why they picked a couple months ago to remove the trees after the show had already been playing perfectly fine with the trees there.

I'd hazard that the trees were beginning to grow into the projection path, or would do soon.
