Do you think November is a good time?

I'm trying to get my whole family interested in a Disney trip. It's in the very early planning stages and it may not even happen. We have to see how everyone is financially. If it does go through I was thinking of maybe proposing a November trip. Has anyone gone in November?

I haven't been since I was six-years-old so it would almost be like my first time.

Thank you! :)

November is our favorite time to go. We always go the second week and make sure we leave to go home right before Thanksgiving Week before the crowds start pouring in. If you go before or after Thanksgiving week, its really a great time to go. The weather is always great during november and the crowds are usually light. Its chilly in the morning, warm during the day and typically chilly in the evening. The christmas decorations are up in the parks.. the resorts decorations usually go up later in November. I chose to go in September this year, so I don't have to wait as long since its been a few years since my last trip to wdw...otherwise, I would have gone again in November.

Depending on your schedule Id go after thanksgiving when all the xmas decorations are up..and the osborne lights have started at DHS. It will make your trip that much more magical.

I am chuckling because I said this same thing myself last year about a December 2012 trip. I made a "tentative" reservation and had truly convinced myself that I would cancel it if money was tight; I didn't book the airline tickets, just in case. I am quite certain I was deluding myself because in hindsight, I can honestly say that there is nothing I would not have done to enable this trip to happen! LOL. Once it was booked, it was written in stone for all intents and purposes. And I am delighted to say that we have now booked the airfare (for free with credit card miles!!!), and we have acknowledged that we are definitely going. The kids do not know though, and I can't wait to surprise them for Hanukah a few days beforehand!

Welcome to the Boards....
November is a great time to go..Depending on exacts dates there are times in November that are better than others for crowds...The weather is good... shorts during the day and light jackets at night... Again depending on dates you can attend the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and see some Christmas Decorations in the Parks... The Parks and Resorts are normally fully decorated mid-nov and at thanksgiving (big items). We went Nov 2010 and loved it! Closer to Thanksgiving the crowds get a little heavier....Hope it works out:animwink:

Wow, thanks for all the quick and informative replies!

So November's great; just avoid Thanksgiving week.

I'm from Houston so weather-wise it's very similar.

Like I said it's pretty much just a thought right now. I know all parties are interested. I just hope they don't think November is too soon. I already have it in my head that I'm going in six months.

Even if you're not sure you are going to be able to go, you can book your dining reservations now, if you want - you're inside 180 days.

Hi Kim! We love dipping Disney in Novemeber for all the reasons everyone says!!! We are going again the week before thanksgiving week. The crowds are super light! The Christmas party is going on also!

Just wanted to say if you do go in Novemeber to bring a sweatshirt and pants too. We were caught without them once and it got really cold in the evening (50). We had to buy stuff there which would have been fine except everyone else had to also so nothing was left!

I'll cross my fingers that you can go!!!! Maybe we will see you there!

Thanks Oswald!

If not November then I'm sure not too far after that. But I have my heart set on Nov.

The information out there is overwhelming. I don't want to overlook anything. I'm always watching Disney World YouTube videos and reading websites, but I'm still not WDW savy like the park frequenters. :animwink:

Dining reservations for what? I'm seeing a lot of postings about that but I'm not sure what it's referring to.

Disney allows guests to make reservations at their on site restaurants (resorts, theme parks and downtown Disney) 180 days in advance of your arrival (you can make for 10 additional days from your arrival date if staying on property). A lot of the more popular restaurants (Chef Mickey at the Contemporary and both the Crystal Palace and Cinderella's Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom to name a few) can book up long before your arrival date. You can actually make dining reservations for November at this time, since we are closer than 180 days to most dates. If you are thinking of eating at one of these restaurants, especially if you have a large group, you may consider making those reservations sooner, rather than later. You can do this online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE.

I was there first week of November last year. Very nice weather but not hot. Parks weren't crowded. Food and Wine Festival in Epcot was in full swing. It was a great time to go.

It can get hot or cold, but is generally good weather-wise.

You'll see Christmas stuff and be able to go to MVMCP, if you want to pay for that. Food&Wine, though not my favorite thing runs to November 11.

It's not a bad time.
