Do Both Akershus and CRT?

Hi,
I am planning a trip in July-Aug 2013 for My husband, 2yr old daughter and 5 yr old son. I have scheduled Crystal Palace. I also have scheduled CRT for the last day of our trip at 8:10am and Akershus at 11:10am for the 1st day of our trip. We are not on the dining plan and are off property. My question is should i keep both reservations or should I just do the CRT? Both are expensive but I am afraid if I don't do both we will regret it. We probably will not be able to come back for several years and then they may be too old for princess meals, so this may be it. Also, we will only be at the parks for 4 days, so will this cut into our park time too much? And last question-Will we be able to ride the monorail to MK early enough to get to the CRT res since the park doesn't open until 9am that day?

we did both on our recent trip, and I think I would drop Akershus. Princesses are largely the same, but the experience at CRT is much more "regal". The kids won't care, but I think CRT is more than enough.

One thing to consider is doing bibbity bobbity on the same day as CRT, if possible. we did that and it was an incredible day. 2 may be a bit youg for it, but I saw plenty of 2-3 yos there.

Thank you for the reply. I considered BBB but read somewhere that they had to be 3 and up to participate. I don't know if that is the policy or not. Also, I don't know that BBB would be open before 8am. I'm leaning towards dropping Akershus but wanted an experienced opinion. Thanks!

Last question 1st: I can tell you you will be able to use Disney transportation to arrive at the park in time for your ressie....not sure if the monorail runs that early, but the busing certainly will. We tend to stay at the Values, so not sure on the monorail; sorry.

Askerhaus is a really neat character breakfast, and I would assume a 11:15 lunch would be nice as well. If you can afford and it works in your schedule, I would keep both. By trying both CRT and Askerhaus you will know which to choose on upcoming trips.

**Edit** I always advise peeps to try both at least once! **End**

Ive been to both and if I had to choose one it would be CRT and pass on the other.
Other notable character meals would be
Crystal Palace - Pooh and friends
Tusker House Mickey & Friends
(Get the early breakfast and finish eating as the pak opens to get on Safari ride with no line)

If you are in the need for a great character experience show meal - check out Mickeys Backyard BBQ. great show - buffet of BBQ picknicc foods (Ribs chicken, hambergurgers, hotdogs, salad, unlimited popcicles and mickey ice cream bars and open bar of beer and wine for adults. my 4-1/2 and 18 month year old loved dancing the night away with Mickey, Minnie, Chip Dale and Goofy. there is even a lasso trick demonstartion for the kids and the country band is pretty good. Highly recommend this underdiscussed event.

Transportation options are supposed to start 2 hours before park opening each day, so you should be able to use either the monorail or ferry from TTC. Just be sure and get there plenty early to allow travel time. I would say do CRT if you need to eliminate one, but we have done both, and have done Akershus twice for breakfast. They're both worth doing imo.

Keep both of them!!! Skimp at home if you have to! You will regret not doing both! Crystal palace is my favorite place to eat in the world and your little one must have a princess meal!

If you can, do both. If you had to pick one and you've never done either, I'd go with CRT ... strictly for the atmosphere advantage. We prefer the breakfast food at CRT, but like the lunch and dinner food at Akershus better.

Also, the monorail starts running early since places on the loop have 7:00am or 7:30am breakfast slots.

I would drop Akershus. Personally, I hate their breakfast menu (not sure if they'd still have that going on at 11?) and it's a lot more fun and regal to eat in the Castle then it is in some restaurant in the Norway pavilion.

Thank you all for your responses! I think I will drop Akershus and just do CRT and Crystal Palace. It sounds like the two princess meals are very similar. I do hope Sleeping Beauty is at CRT though because she is my favorite princess and my daughter loves anything pink! I am so excited about this trip!
