Disneyworld room keys in Aulani?

Due to the nature of this topic I wasn’t sure where to post it.

I just checked into aulani yesterday and they’re using WDW room keys. In my previous stays here that has not been the case, they had their own Aulani key cards. Any idea why this is going on?

My guess -- since the advent of MagicBands, they had a ton of unused key cards at WDW left over, so they sent them to Hawaii to use them up. Another case of flow over show.

Are they also using "Disney Parks" paperware and napkins?

Ahhhhh, you’re probably right. Hadn’t thought of that.

As someone who works for the State of Florida, I appreciate a cost savings when I see one. This is the kind of thing that would earn a State of Florida Davis Productivity Award for ingenuity in using up existing stock before purchasing more.
