Saw that one coming. Once he was passed up for the CEO job his time was short.

Shame though -- he's a really smart guy and would've been a phenomenal leader for the company.

I see this as evidence that Disney's dealmaking days are over and that now's the time to focus on integrating everything they have, not as some sort of failure or Mayer trying to jump a (according to media "experts") sinking ship.

The deals are done. International expansion blueprint is now clear. Mayer was essentially expendable.

I, for one, cannot wait for the melodramatic "DISNEY IS DOOMED" and "DISNEY STREAMING DOA" takes from the NY Times and THR/Variety/Deadline.
