For what it's worth, Disney is betting on a critical mass of people eliminating that psychology. But it doesn’t present as the same product. We’re eliminating the psychology of it.

Just not as high as they "hoped," which, as we all know, is not a plan of action.Did I hear that right? WDW is operating as a net positive $-wise?
Dear BobI really think they should open the call questions to the WDWMAGIC members in this thread - would be much more entertaining
$30 for Mulan is completely ordinary pricing for premier VoD.
You will get it on D+ 'for free' after it goes through various 'windows' of sales: theater, VoD, cable, broadcast, streamers. That is exactly what would happen if Mulan went to theaters first. Completely ordinary.
If you wanted to see it in theaters, $30 represents less than a family of three. Buy 'buying' it on VoD, you can watch it with many more people and many times over.
If you don't want to pay extra for a premier views, just wait 3-6 months and it will be on D+ at no extra charge. Just like you have the option of not seeing in theaters, if it had gone to theaters.
Which is completely ordinary.
...and the major theater chains declaring bankruptcy and closingFor what it's worth, Disney is betting on a critical mass of people eliminating that psychology.
I have a call in with the plumber.Dear Bob
Did you know Spaceship Earth is still leaking two years after it was first reported? Maybe scrap that refurb and just fix the tap.

Let's say Mulan in Theaters is going to earn $400 Million, over 6 weeks. To match the same revenue, Disney will need to get 13.4 million households to rent the movie. If you assume Disney would have kept 70% of the gross, and with VOD Disney is keeping 100% of the purchase price, the total they need to match the revenue goes down to 9.3 million households..... Doesn't seem like that big of a stretch. That's the bet.
Yeah...(audible laughter)Did I hear that right? WDW is operating as a net positive $-wise?

Shocked it’s not higher, but they are making you sign up for D+, so it’s really $37 if you don’t currently have the service. Not bad if you are a family of 4 or more watching.
