They will almost certainly have a soft open, but it's not clear if it will be infront of guests.

It's a huge operation getting this parade back running in WDW. However, in previous years they have ran these parade tests overnight, and then final testing has been with cast only after park closing.

So the schedule that has been posted Might not be accurate? It listed SpectroMagic on June 4th and MSEP on the 5th. I hope that's the way it will work out :veryconfu

If that schedule does happen and MSEP first night is the 5th, the park is gonna be insane! because I heard its also Gay Days weekend And the 5th is the official Gay Days at the Magic Kingdom. So not only will the park be crowed for that but also with all the MSEP fans that want to be there for the parades first night!

ELP Parking

I saw a sign as I was leaving work today in a small parking lot beside the holiday services building that said "Electrical Parade Float Trailer Parking"

It was bittersweet to watch the parade last Sunday. The bright side, i get to see it in July! I do hope they call it the Main Street Electrical Parade. While playing at DCA the opening was all wrong to me!

We dont know if its just the summer. The rumor is that TDO got MSEP for two years, I really dont see why they wouldnt run it for two straight years (and hopefully in the meantime give Spectro a real nice rehab/upgrade or get a new parade.)

Follow the truck until it stops and then ride that electrical snail to Mexico.

Completing this task will award you 5000 dollars cold-hard cash.

GO.

I am sure this has been asked a million times but I cannot seem to find the answer but does anyone know if this is just for one summer or will it be something that is continuous? I would love for my kids to see it (it is mine and DH’s favorite) but we made our annual trip earlier this year and will not be returning until next summer. SO I am hoping we did not miss the boat on this one.

It is expected to continue for a couple of years. Officailly, Disney have only confirmed it for the summer.

Guests at BLT might get lucky and see the tops of floats or hear its test runs during the wee hours of the morning before it goes live. They have to test it sometime when guests aren't there.

I hope, though unlikely, that DCA also sent the Dumbo floats :)

I think it is going to be awesome to hear the "Dreamlights" music on Main Street :) Though one thing I wish MK had was lighting towers like DCA has that dim on and off when the parade music begins :) It is kinda cool!
If MK did have DCAs lighting towers all along the parade route it would also add to the Halloween parade as well as the Christmas parade. The parade route is kinda dark.

Interesting. I hope the intro uses main street electrical parade, and not just disneys electrical parade.

The parade is now being called Disney's Electrical Parade, DEP, which it what the Drum float shows and is on all signage and Cast Member documentation. "Main Street" is not longer being used anywhere.

As of now, the floats are set to arrive over the next few weeks while the cast is currently rehearsing on the ground. The cast is said to start rehearsing with the floats the week of May 20th.
