I am thinking about planning a small vacation to Disneyland in 2010 (maybe in March or April). I have not been to Disneyland since I was 5 years old.

Can someone please offer suggestions on where to begin? hotel? airport? I need it all.

Hotel: I recommend the Howard Johnson Anaheim Plaza Hotel. Their staff is really friendly and the facility is only a 7 minute walk to/from the Disneyland Resort. They also offer Disney View rooms (these are right across from the Matterhorn)

Airport: There are several major airports around the resort area, John Wayne (SNA), Long Beach (LGB), Ontario (ONT), and more famously Los Angeles International (LAX).

I've heard nothing but good things about all of these and they are an hour or less shuttle from the airport to the DLR, so I would go with the best deal that you can find.

The closest airport is SNA. LGB is next and then LAX. There are several hotels walking distance from the resort.
If money is no object, the Grand Californian is stunning. The DL hotel and Paradise Pier are also operated by Disney.
If you plan to spend all of your time in the parks and just want a place to sleep, there are many hotels in the area that are only $50 a night.

Your first step is to pick dates and figure out your budget. Then look for flights to SNA. Then get a hotel. If you don't want to go anywhere else, get a shuttle from the airport to your hotel. You won't need to rent to car since everything is so close.
3 days is probably enough. A 3 day park hopper is $170 for an adult. Let me know what else you need.
