Disney with 4 adults and 5 kids

In January of 2015, my parents, my husband, my five kids (ages 10, 8, 7, 5, and 6 months) and I will be going to Disney for a week. My parents are annual passholders but don't live in Florida (neither do we!). My question is, where should we stay? I really want to stay on Disney property but I don't want to spend our whole budget on rooms. I would love for us all to stay in one large space but is that even possible? And which value resort is the best - if we go that route? Thanks!

Are you planning to time travel? Or do you mean January of 2016?

If all of you want to stay together you will find it much more economical to stay in a villa off property. For 4 adults and 5 children to stay together in a Disney resort requires a 2 or 3 bedroom villa which can be very pricey.

The Art of Animation suites could accommodate your family and your parents could stay in a Little Mermaid room on the same property.

If you want to stay in 2 value rooms (the infant being in a portacrib) Pop Century seems to be everyone's favorite on these boards.

I hate to tell you this but you missed your trip. ;)

I would look at renting DVC points - a search in the DVC forums will give you all the information you need if you go that route. A two bed room in any DVC resort should work for you.

If you're looking to save money, a two bedroom villa at a DVC resort would be a horrible choice. Those rooms cost WAAAAAY more than two (...or three... or four!) separate "regular" rooms at a value or moderate resort. A standard mermaid room at DAAR during value season would run you $150 a night versus $800+ for a two-bedroom villa.

Wow, you forum people are smart! Yea, I guess I mis-typed - we are going in 2016 :)
Thanks for the advice. My parents are happy to have two of the kids stay with them. I'm thinking two value rooms may be our answer.
