Walt Disney World has won a case against Orange County Property Appraiser Rick Singh over the tax bill for Yacht and Beach Club.

The ruling looks like it may cause many resorts throughout the area to request reassessments, and Disney has already said that it will have all of their resorts re-appraised which will save the company millions of dollars a year.

Anything that saves $$$ will benefit Disney at this point. Of course it will result in questioning other assessing errors. We had an appraiser hired by our city several years ago who was reevaluating properties in the hopes it would be a cash cow for them. He was eventually let go because he was so bad at his assessments to the point that it hurt the city more than it helped in infuriating both residents and businesses.

Watched an interesting video about this a few days back, apparently Disney, Universal, Seaworld etc do this all the time as its worth the cost of sueing. It mentioned one of them (Seaworld I think) got $50 million back due to the property being overvalued, and thus overtaxed.

Pretty sure it was one by Rob Plays / Midway to mainstreet.

They shouldn't mess with the Mouse when it comes to money. He'll send in a crew to take them out.

If Disney can't the profits on the park attendance or lack of it, saving $$ on paying millions in taxes can help.

Never understood how the owner of a property could make the appraised value more.
