I priced the last stint of our stay (Nov 7th - 11th) via RunDisney and the discount wasn't great at all, it was still cheaper for us to book with the UK site... shame :(

I used a runDisney discount during my first race trip and ever since I've either rented DVC points or gotten some different discount (room discount, free dining, whatever) that seems to be better.

I'm renting DVC points in Animal Kingdom lodge up until the Friday but they didn't have availability for the weekend... BOO

What's a bounceback? I still need to book something for W&D weekend.

When you are currently staying at a Disney Resort, you call a special number and book a return trip, either room only or package (when available). You must be currently be at the Disney Resort however, registered.

Rack rate was 545/night, we were able to secure 224/night. Look into it next time you are there, it is usually in your "Welcome Home" planner of information in your room.

I know what your referring to now, thanks. Not an option for me since my next visit will be on race weekend.

Yeah...I was bummed that free dining was blacked out for W&D Half weekend. That's a first I think.

We had APs last year so we didn't even look at free dining. Actually now that I think about it I think we paid rack rate at French Quarter...I really wanted to stay there and we would have had to move to a different moderate to get the room-only discount (no regrets as we LOVED French Quarter!). But I think that was the first time we've ever paid rack rate.

?-I had to get my bib via a travel agent. I went with a value cause it was cheap.

We are going this summer with the kid and I plan on getting an AP cause it saves me about $50 and I can get a TIW card which helps save more.

After my reservation is paid off can I call WDW myself and try to "upgrade" with my AP discount?

You may loose your bib. Depending on how the terms were structured between you and the TA, giving them an end run to upgrade yourself might mean they loose their commission, and you your bib. If its a decent TA you should in theory be able to have them do the upgrade for you. The exclusion to this I can see is if the TA has a group rate for the block of rooms, and they need to fill those rooms.

Question: Should I start booking for an onsite hotel now?
I'm an insane planner, so I'm not sure you want to ask me...:D I've had my room booked since late February and already have my room booked for January.

Are you looking at any particular resort? I'd have to think the Epcot resorts are full by now.

I'm thinking the values. Problem is I'm not sure where I'll be living in November. Might be Orlando. I could always book a Holiday Inn if I have to.

Depends on what/where you need to stay. Looks like every value resort is covered, so unless you want a specific room type, I don't see a need to book now. Just keep your eye on availability online. When you see rooms in your price range start to disappear, then make your booking.

I was able to book a room at Coronado in 2012 with fairly short notice (within 45 days or so). If I remember correctly, there was a fair amount of availability at the Value resorts as well
