Wow, impressive, those actions represent a face of Disney that we would like to see more often.

After all not everything is greed and big bucks at the mouse... :animwink:

I think a page is turning in the history of Disney... a lot of people are seeing the Disney Difference that Walt Disney World resort does that hasn't been company-wide for quite some time. Paul Pressler and Cynthia Harriss did a lot of damage to the West Coast parks and to the Disney store... it's interesting that Walt Disney World resort is being asked to manage the replacement Disney stores in Burbank and New York... I am confident that the reason that Disney is starting to let WDW manage these stores and that "the Mouse" is being as generous as it is on the hurricane issue is because people are realizing that Al Weiss and his wonderful team (including my favorite exec in the world, Lee Cockerell) at WDW are doing things right -- and that they are doing even better with business results than any other business unit. They spend more, they do more, they donate more, they maintain more... but they also make more money and have better reviews than any other business unit.... hmmm, could that be the Disney Difference in action?

Kudos to the management team at WDW resort and to the entire Disney company for the generosity, and I have my fingers crossed that Al and his team continue to have even more influence on the day-to-day operations at the Disney Co.

I think that is excellent! :)

I wish other organizations or rich individuals would do this like pro athletes for instance or movie stars. If every pro athlete gave up say 3 % of their income to help in times like this it would be amazing. If say Shaq who makes somewhere around $25,000,000 a year (just salary, not endorsements) gave 3% of his salary you are talking $750,000 which he will not miss. I saw an interview with him about 2 years ago where he said he yet to spend a dime of his NBA salary. He lives off of his endorsement deals.

I know it is not his or any other athlete or movie star's obligation to do this but it is something that I think would give something back to the community.

It's great to see Disney in the forefront of something good. Let's hope this is the catalyst of bringing the magic back.

I wish the same thing but in the land of rich and greedy people who live in mansions and have majorly expensive cars, you don't see acts like this very much. Especially from corporations.

Bravo to Disney to assist a little bit but a lot in the huge relief effort. Much faster then the governments response.

Both the state of Florida and the federal government have moved very quickly to respond to this disaster with search & rescue, law enforcement, emergency supplies and loans to rebuild.

Agreed, the fastest ever. They tend to move slow. However, the good natured people of florida move faster

But from the reports I hear, very few people are getting the governments relief so far. I dunno, correct me if im wrong

Both the state and federal governments have been very responsive in providing emergency services such as food, shelter, medical care, search & rescue, debris clearing, sanitation and law enforcement. The power, water and telephone companies are very busy doing their business as well. The insurance companies are pumping billions of dollars into the disaster area to expedite recovery efforts.

The federal government has approved low interest loans of up to $200,000 for residential dwelling repairs and $400,000 for commercial property repair.

Bravo

Disney always have a way to do what some other should also do. When people are happy your workplace is a happier one. I do remember when Gloria Estefan did a concert for Hurricane Relif (with the help of comic relif) for Andrew. Now acts like Backstreet Boys and Nsync (both from Orlando) and some other acts that called Orlando Home should do the same. Even Universal and Disney come up together for this matter. But Still a standing ovation to Disney "BRAVO"
