Lay offs coming soon for call centers and chat box customer service? Disney store did it a while ago after all.

Most of the AI powered search engines are worthless garbage, but it might actually work for this purpose because it's (presumably) pulling from a discrete set of information instead of the entire Internet.
Agreed, not like some of these stories you hear where you can convince the support help bot to offer coding advice on a website for dog food

Has anyone, even once, ever said "you know what would make Disney's web site better -- an AI chatbot"? I very seriously doubt it. These companies keep pushing and pushing and pushing this stuff, and people are almost universally rejecting it. So much so that companies like Microsoft have had to reverse course and remove some of the AI prompts from places where they had originally inserted them.

I know AI is going to be with us and is going to be a part of our lives now; no question. However, I am really hopeful like we have with other emerging technologies where the bubble is going to burst to the extent that it becomes just an ordinary thing that is used where it is needed and not shoved into every conceivable space regardless of what the customers actually want.

I know lots of people are concerned about AI in the filmmaking world, but thinking about Disney, I am actually way more concerned about the ways they are going to try to shove it into the parks, the apps, and the customer service.

or asking an automated AI chatbot for a Chevrolet dealer what the best pickup truck to buy and it suggests Toyotas 🤣

As someone who's basically being pushed out of my job for this exact reason (AI taking over our knowledge base/calls), I have no sympathy for them if it fails
Sorry to hear you're being pushed out for this. I am praying this bubble bursts. AI has a place, but as a supplement to human work and interaction, not replacement.

They have a hard enough time getting the website to act right most of the time. This has 💩 written all over it.

Thanks. I've had Plan b, c, and d for a while lined up in case this kind of thing happened (my manager and I have had other disagreements and he's possibly done illegal things on top of it so I'm not too upset)

Another thing to slow page loading. I wonder if there will be a "we're working on it" splash to entertain you while it grinds away before putting up the "404 page not found" result?

Ask the AI clanker if it knows what the Disney Difference is?

What is the Disney Difference?

It’s the question every traveler asks when looking for the ultimate escape. Is it world-class luxury? Is it groundbreaking technology? Is it the feeling that anything is possible the moment you step on board? The truth is, it’s all of the above and it is finally here.
