yeah, we are fixin to have the Texas Forest Festival here in a few weeks with a big Midway and Carnival - that thing scares the bajeezus out of me! i would be afraid to ride the merry-go-round! they have this new ride that is SO INCREdIBLY tall that you can BARELY see the people at the top of the ride, and it makes a huge circular motion from top to bottom - these people are crazy , there are only like 3, seven inch bolts holding this thing on, and it looks like they forgot two of them... (j/k, but you know what i mean)

Seriously, who rides a ride that can be put together in under an hour.

Are you serious? When is the last time you went to a county fair? I live approx 3 miles from the fairgrounds and it is a madhouse. On the weekends we hate it, the traffic is horrendous. AND let me say there are lines of up to 1+ hour of people waiting to get on a ride that was put together in an hour. b/t/w - You do know that these rides are inspected by the state commissioners office before they can operate every time they are setup.

Sorry for the drift away from SF.:)

Im about an hour or less from Six Flags America which was Adventure World which started as Wild World. I have been once since six flags bought it and i am not impressed at all. The only reason I went was because AOL gave me 2 free tickets to any of their parks. The traffic patterns for the park are horrible, the people were uncaring about everything, The rides all needed to be painted. Half the rollercoasters rode extremely rough. I dont plan to go back. I travel the extra 20 mins and go to Paramounts Kings Dominion in VA

I did the same exact thing. Normally I would have taken the tickets for SF Great Adventure in New Jersey, but they were all gone. So, me and a buddy got ones for that park. The Superman Roller Coaster was great, but the park was very small, stinky and dirty. It definitely needs some fixing up.

Ugh, you guys are all wrong....... Six Flags Mid America near where I live has to be the single most worst six flags of all!!!!!!! The parking lot had so much trash dumped around in it and not well layed out. The theme park has a few lands, DC comics plaza, Warner Bros. Pictures backlot, Gateway to the West, Chouteau's Marke, Britania, Looney Tunes Town, Illinois, 1904 World's Fair, and Hurricain Harbor. Over all theme of the theme park? I have no clue. Except, crap is probbably the theme come to think of it. All of the rides were nothing but kiddie rides or trill rides. You could see telephone wires going from building to building, and you could also see the building's air conditioners just sitting out there in plain veiw of the guests. One of the roller coasters called the "Boss" was in Britania and had nothing to do with the theme and Lonny Tunes Town makes Mickey's Toon Town Fair look like an E-ride attraction. The Employees were extremely rude. My friend who wears hearing aids took them off and had them hanging limply on his ears and a custodian came along and said, "Man, what's the matter with you kid? Why are you wearing earings?" He wasn't even joking. Once my friend said that they were hearing aids, he said, "What's wrong with you, are you deaf kid?" All of the staff even cussed in public. How awful. YOU can never make me go back.

:D

YES! It's THAT bad....*sigh* The quere's are poorly built. I got heat stroke waiting for Batman, they have you in this like, tunnel, with no fans or anything....not to mention the dirtiness, the carny feeling, employee's being jerks and the women who hit on you who work there :-/

I live right near Six Flags Great America and the two things I noticed were that it smells bad there and every time you come home from it you have to take a shower because you feel dirty! I agree with you guys needless to say

Disney and Six Flags

I've been to a few Six Flags parks around the country and after visiting I am SO much more appreciative for the Disney Parks. Everything is kept nicely in the Disney Parks, for the most part, with all the things that you really don't want to see hidden. This is a technique that some parks are trying to follow, especially in the Orlando area because Disney brings up the overall quality of the parks near them, in my opinion. Most of us are guilty of complaining about Disney, myself included, but things could be A LOT worse at the Disney Parks and yes, the ALSO could be better as well =) The Disney Parks are number one to me though!!

Imagineer boy...Is Six Flags Mid America the one outside of St. Louis? If so, I agree!!! We went there on a band trip, that was our "treat" day, our reward for playing good at our band festival. That place was awful! I live two hours from Six Flags Great America and have been there countless times and am not terribly impressed with it, but Great America blows Mid America away!
Don't they only have like 3 coasters? I was there in 1996, so maybe things have changed...but what a dump!

I was at Six Flags this summer less than a month after being at Disney. What a letdown in comparison!

Give me Disney anyday!

The first park of any kind I ever went to was WDW. That sets the standard for life! I went to Six Flags America just a month ago and there is definitely no comparison. I got separated from my group and wandered around for awhile and realized the park is not very well organized and way overcrowded in the water park! The wait for lines is outrageous and to get a fast pass you have to pay about $20.00! By the time I left I was tired, hot, and cranky. Not the way you are when you leave WDW......tired, hot, and HAPPY!

You're right, Mid America is right out side of St. Louis.

Six flags in New Orleans is pretty boring too. I couldn't wait to get out of there. NO shade, second rate attractions with poorly managed lines and boring, uninspired que areas and not to mention lame, cheaply done batman shows. The one good thing I took from that place was my appretiation for Disney.

i live right by great america too and i went to the st louis six flags around the same time as you did. youre definitely right, great america is tons better than mid america or whatever its called. its at most half the size and much more of a maze than great america. but like you said, "give me disney anyday"

Yeah, SF Great America is excellent when it comes to coasters, but it's highly disgusting in most other areas, including the employees. I could get into how rude they are, but I'd rather think about how great WDW is. :)
