Company signs deal with Travelocity and Expedia
Date: 06/12/2002

Walt Disney World Co., recently signed an agreement with Expedia and Travelocity that will enable guests to purchase Walt Disney World vacation packages through these travel Web sites.

With online travel bookings projected to grow to $40 billion in 2003, the agreement will enlarge the company's online presence by providing guests with more options for booking reservations.

As part of the deal, both Expedia and Travelocity will launch Walt Disney World "mini-sites," where guests can book reservations and purchase tickets. Expedia's site will feature an interactive map of the resort, slideshows and schedules of upcoming events. Expedia also will promote Disney vacations through e-mail messages, hot links on the Microsoft Network, direct mail, and newspaper and radio advertising. Travelocity will provide Disney-related marketing campaigns to its more than 32 million members.
