Like anything Apple will uh, find a way.Except there is no money involved when making park reservations so there would be no cut for Apple.

It's an old ticket (prior to 2016), but converted to new media in 2019How old is the ticket? If prior to 2016, it can be used as-is but yes you will need theme park reservations. If the ticket is after 2016, most likely it expired and will need to be upgraded to a current ticket which does not require theme park reservations.
The WDW and DLR apps blow the Universal Orlando app out of the water. Talk about unintuitive. This duster has always been complaining about Disney's tech. The UX sux. Once they moved away from Google's material design, which tried to get all app developers to adopt the same style, and instead, put in a completely unintuitive configuration of features, it has continually sucked.
Maybe someone A.I.-vibe-coded the solution.
I ironically had fewer issues with the DLR app than I ever did with WDW. Granted, much lower sample size, but still. Also never had much issues with USOThe WDW and DLR apps blow the Universal Orlando app out of the water. Talk about unintuitive.

The original park pass system was hastily thrown together on the bones of the fastpass+ system when the parks reopened after the Covid closure (literally, people looked at the code). As the original fastpass+ system was bootable/modifiable on both the web and in the app, it’s always been a mystery why the PP system was website only for so long.I agree, and that’s likely why we saw it integrated at this point, but I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility that Disney lawyers were hesitant
Also, coming from a background in affiliate, companies sometimes pay or get cuts from just clicks / brand awareness, as “transactions” . If Apple viewed those reservations as monetizable traffic that could affect itBut there are credit card holds and some credit card processing in some of the experiences. Probably wasn't worth partitioning those out to the app? I have not idea how their system works.
I mean…. Isn’t everyday a good to go day? Just with a tap of your phone?New Annual Passholder good-to-go days have been added to the park reservation calendar: June 25, 28 and 29.
Yes, but for some reason a lot of people around here really hate having g to tap their phone.I mean…. Isn’t everyday a good to go day? Just with a tap of your phone?

Because it's been a pointless and needless exercise for 3 years and counting.Yes, but for some reason a lot of people around here really hate having g to tap their phone.
I mean it’s pretty silly to have to tap my phone when I’m at the gate of the park and there are reservations available- not sure why they can’t fix that.Yes, but for some reason a lot of people around here really hate having g to tap their phone.
Not being a passholder, i am curious here. Without a reservation system, or even with one, if you don't tap your phone at the gate, is there another way that WDW tracks that you are entering the park?I mean it’s pretty silly to have to tap my phone when I’m at the gate of the park and there are reservations available- not sure why they can’t fix that.
But it’s also pretty painless unless you get a CM who judges you when the light turns blue and you have to do the walk of shame out of line to make a reservation. Oh the shame!!!!!![]()
2 different kinds of taps. I use the physical pass so I’m tapping my pass at the gate. Not being a passholder, i am curious here. Without a reservation system, or even with one, if you don't tap your phone at the gate, is there another way that WDW tracks that you are entering the park?
I don’t mean this in a rude way but I am curious why you don’t do it before heading to the park?I mean it’s pretty silly to have to tap my phone when I’m at the gate of the park and there are reservations available- not sure why they can’t fix that.

I often play bus roulette and don’t know which park I’m headed to. Sometimes I remember to make the reservation on the bus / transportation. Sometimes I forget.I don’t mean this in a rude way but I am curious why you don’t do it before heading to the park?
When I lived down there I would get my park reservation while heading out the door and then drive to whatever park I just booked.
Ah so each provides separate information, one as to who plans on going to a particularly park, and then the other tap on who actually shows up.2 different kinds of taps. I use the physical pass so I’m tapping my pass at the gate.
“Tap my phone” - was being used for slang as in get on my phone and make a park reservation.
I think they are keeping it so they can close off a park if it’s going to see unusual demand.Ah so each provides separate information, one as to who plans on going to a particularly park, and then the other tap on who actually shows up.
[Insert comment about how good to go days are ridiculous, as is the reservation system in general, here]Walt Disney World Adds More Summer 2026 Good to Go Days Including First July Dates
Three new Good to Go Days have been added for summer 2026 — June 30, July 8, and July 9. Annual Passholders with existing reservations on those dates will have them removed automatically, though they'll remain visible in My Disney Experience.
