This week, New Yorker magazine includes an article about the second golden age of roller coasters (happening now). While mostly about coaster parks (like Cedar Point) and a general history of roller coasters, the second section is about Disney and Expidition Everest, including a brief description of the ride and how the switchbacks figure in, and a description of the queue going past buildings, a tea plantation and an "Abominable Snowman" tourist trap museum before loading. No pictures, but a good read.
