Disney going old school with new Pooh

While this version of "Pooh" won't be generated by a computer or projected in 3-D, Del Vecho cautioned it wouldn't simply be a redux of past "Pooh" projects. He said the film, spearheaded by Disney and Pixar animation chief John Lasseter, will feature five new original songs and a faster pace punctuated with humor that's appropriate for modern audiences.

Well you can't say they didn't warn us this time.

Honestly though, sounds good to me.
What would be really cool is if they found some way for their animation computers to simulate the look and feel of the original cartoons- adding in tracelines, Xerox dust, bleaching out and de-correcting the color, etc. In other words, make a modern computer-inked/colored film look like it was made 40 years ago.

BTW, anyone seen the Soviet version of Winnie the Pooh? They're actually pretty awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qam9JBk5Oig&feature=related

I'm so looking forward to a new movie. Never liked the new pooh shows. My 2 year old niece watches non stop classic pooh, so much fun to watch when she's over.

Wow. They are taking quite a risk returning the the feeling and style of the 1960's films. Will it play to today's audience? I hope it's a monster hit but I worry that it will only play to fans of nostalgia and their kids. Of course that's a lot of people.

I will see the film anyway. I've disliked most of the pooh evolution since "Tigger Too".
