Disney GiftCards work at fast pass machines

We accidentally used an old used gift card in the Maelstrom fast pass machine and it gave us passes.

We tried a bunch of other magnetic media over the course of our visit, but it only seems to work with Disney gift cards. They can be active, used, or new ones that haven't been activated yet. They seem to work like a regular park ticket (i.e. each gift card can only pull one fastpass at a time and sticks to the same time limits as an actual ticket).

And we tested at multiple rides, parks, etc. to see if it was a glitch. It worked at every single one we tried. It was the weirdest thing.

Like I said, total fluke that we found it. Accidentally pulled the wrong card out of the wallet. Tested it at all three parks that still have legacy FP and with various types of gift cards (active with money, active used up, not activated yet). All worked just like regular tickets.

I know legacy fast passes will be going away soon -very soon- but please don't do this if you have one. There are already a limited number of fast passes available so please don't deplete the pool more than it already is by FP+

We are dvc members so on our last trip we got park tickets (cards) and separate MMNSSHP tickets (cards). They both worked in the fast pass machines (double dippin!!). I just wasn't gonna broadcast it, like you did.

Wasn't gonna broadcast it but legacy fast pass will be gone forever in a matter of days. Figured it couldn't hurt anything at this point. That's interesting about the special event tickets.
