disney gift cards

what brand name stores sell them and are discounts offered?
  • Sam's Club and BJ's both sell Disney gift cards at a discount.
  • There's a targeted offer on some Amex credit cards for a $25 statement credit when you spend $250 or more at Best Buy. It's always worked for me on Disney gift cards in the past.
  • Walmart, CVS, Walgreen's and Rite Aid all sell Disney GC but I don't know of any current discounts at any of them.
  • And pretty much any large grocery chain will have them and you can earn rewards with your frequent shopper account.

Target with a Redcard = 5%
BJ"s and Sam's club have them at a discount, but you have to check. the deal is often less than 5%, unless you can combine with a credit card bonus of 1-2% more.

Disney online does not discount, but sometimes your credit card might have a bonus offer that makes doing this worthwhile, but you have to read fine print. Sometimes it works if you buy gift cards, often they do not work. They almost always do NOT work with online purchases. Odds are much higher if you actually go to the store to buy them.

IN SOME cases, you can also buy a generic e-Visa at a discount, then use it to buy a Disney card, if you so desire. E-Visas have limits on how you can use them, but you can use them to pay for a WDW hotel or vacation. (via phone) Most e-Visas have a $5-6 fee though SO the discount has to be really good to beat the Target 5%.

Often grocery stores- with membership - offer rewards points for gift cards. Look for the bonus offers, like 4X gas rewards at Kroger. IF you buy gift cards during one of these promos AND you make full use of the gas points, you can come out more than5% ahead. One trick - of sorts- if you happen to have 2 cars in your household- is to fill BOTH cars in the same transaction, so that you end up getting twice as much gas at the discounted price.

DO look for black Friday deals.

Not quite Disney, but MANY restaurant chains are offering holiday bonuses on gift cards. Some of them are ones you can use at Disney World. For example: Blaze: buy $50- get bonus $10- BUT the bonus card is only valid 1/1/24-2/29/24. From what I have seen, MOST of these bonus cards are only valid - more or less- for the month of January.

Panera has a similar deal. It is also pretty easy to find Panera for 10% off. Miller's Ale House is off WDW property, but multiple ones very close to WDW. they have a buy $50 get $10bonus deal

You can join the Landry's club to get a reward for RainforestCafe/T-Rex, but it takes two visits to make it worthwhile.

You can join the bottleneck Group to immediately get $10 off at City Works in Disney Springs. Or at least I think that deal is still valid. They migt have a bonus gift card deal, too.

ONE last warning- if you wind up with any of the new CARDBOARD giftcards, be very careful to GENTLY SCRATCH off the foil. DO NOT try to PEEL it, or use anything sharp. The cardboard disintegrates very easily.

When accessing/redeeming Egift cards, the websites do not always like auto filled email addresses. If you hit a snag, it is often that they need you to remove the extra space at the end of the email address before they will accept the auto filled email. (Or at least that is my recollection).

Watch Best Buy for offers. At present, they do not have Disney ones, but they nearly always have something. This week it is DoorDash, H&M, Dick's, and Gap/Old Navy.

BB usually has a limit of 1 or 2 gift cards per order, but sometimes you can repeat the transaction. Sometimes you can only repeat after 24hours. Other times no repeats.

Planet Hollywood has one of those buy $50 in gift card (before Xmas), get a $10 bonus card (January use only) deals.

Oooh- Sam's Club has $500 Southwest giftcards for $399. Other places also offer discounts for SWA gift cards, but that's quite a discount!

On last thought - if you choose Target, and have joined Target Circle, in some cases buying gift card will qualify you for a bonus. You can NOT use bonus points to buy gift cards, but buying gift cards often does = a qualifying purchase.

Even better is to tell family and relatives that Disney gift cards are a good option when they ask you what you want for birthday or Christmas gifts. It’s something they can easily shop for and pick up for you. I get a lot of gift cards by doing this so by the time my trip rolls around I’ve got a good collection of gift cards in various denominations.
