So, while I was at work the other day I was flipping through a magazine (can't remember which one) there was a very small article about Disney animated classics that are in the works of becoming live action movies. I work at a fitness center so this magazine could have been from MONTHS ago.

Some of the future projects mentioned were Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty (Tim Burton for director), Snow White and The Little Mermaid. Anyone here anything about this, I cannot wait to see what they will do!!!!

:sohappy:

its the newest entertanment weekly. i think it will be ok depending on how its done. and it said some like the little mermaid may not be based on the disney version. i really dont want to see Tim Burton make Sleeping Beauty i love that movie and dont want to see him ruin it like he did Alice. IMO

Ah, yes I could not remember for the life of me!!!!

Though I am a fan of Tim Burton's work I do agree with you. He puts darkness into films, this is ok but will become boring and redundant. I would really love to see the Little Mermaid come back. Maybe a mixture between Splash and Enchanted?

i love that their on blu-ray. my fiance and i cant wait for Sleeping Beauty,The Little Mermaid and Aladdin.I really don`t want to see Angilenia Jolie as Maleifcent. Or Johnny Depp as Prince Phillip for that matter. And Tim Burton does put a darkness into his films when he doesnt need to. He changes the story to much when the original was just as good if not better than what he comes up with. sorry rant about Tim Burton over lol.

I enjoyed Alice in Wonderland as a Tim Burton film, but not necessarily a part of the Disney legacy of great movies. I think I would feel depressed if his vision of the story took over the original Walt Disney classic, but I don't think we're in danger of that. I'll be on the fence about Maleficent. I think Robert Zemeckis is better suited for remaking Disney classics. A Christmas Carol was wonderful and let's not forget Who Framed Roger Rabbit. I think Guillermo del Toro would be the best choice for a Snow White or Pinocchio remake.
