Castle of Enchantment.jpg

Coming eventually, a Disney park like no other where the Kingdoms of Yesterday, Journeys, Discovery, and Fantasy collide like no other. Disney's Enchanted Empire is the pinnacle of Disney Parks, four parks in one encompassing the classic themes of the classic castle park while injecting it's own aesthetic sense and style to it.

Coming... eventually.

I at least want to get some hype going on this so how's about a sneak peak into the kingdoms that make up the Empire?

Kingdom of Yesterday
A 20s Themed Main Street
As I Live and Breathe, Mary Poppins!
Mickey lives in the 20s?
Where's the Tower of Terror?

Gardens of Dreams
Look at all those roses
Magic Kingdom got done dirty
I feel like I'm in the Gardens of Versailles
I'm going to the jungle then?
Those are some weird plants

Kingdom of Journeys
Isn't colonialism great?
Archeology is fun
Aladdin deserves this
How'd we get to the old west?
Have a Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Day
This is a tropical hideaway
Aue Aue
Yo-Ho-Ho
The Gateway to the Mississippi

Kingdom of Fantasy
Of course there's a castle
The First 5
The Boy's Area
The Girl's Area
So that's where everything else goes!

Kingdom of Discovery
So it's Tomorrowland
Oh that's where It's a Small World is!
Imagination
Marvelous!
I like computers

Location: A Place No Where In Particular

To all who come to this enchanted place, welcome! Disney Enchanted Empire is your kingdom. Here, the worlds of Yesterday, Journeys, Discovery, and Fantasy come to life as never seen before and adventure and hopes lie in wait around every corner. Disney Enchanted Empire is the culmination of the lessons in artistry, passion, design, and detail that come from 12 parks and resorts. With lessons learned and more and more to come, Disney Enchanted Empire will never truly be completed, all in the wish of being a source of joy, a fountain of inspiration, and a beacon of hope to all the world.

Entrance

bc396e15c518f86ab0fd7be46f822121.jpg

Disney’s Enchanted Empire is, as most Disney Parks are, set up like a theatre. The Art Deco Main Street Hotel surrounds the entrance plaza in an interesting corona. Orchestral music welcomes you to the entrance plaza of Disney Enchanted Empire Park. Featuring classics and new favorites, the music sets the stage for an experience unlike any other. We proceed to the ticket booths and purchase our tickets and pass a flowerbed featuring Mickey’s face. And this flowerbed is almost ever changing, always matching the current season. Through the gates we go and we arrive inside, passing an old train station to discover a town on it's way to being a city.

How's about our first steps into the park?

Town Square

american-cities-006.jpg

Guests are welcomed to a big city in 1928. This is a town in transition. A mix of small town charm and elaborate big city. As guests pass under the Main Street Railroad Station, they appear in the old Town Square. City Hall stands on one side, where guests can go for information, problems, and compliments.

And all day, favorite characters come to greet guests around the square. The Town Square Inn restaurant offers a wonderful buffet in a lovely Victorian environment, while outside, you might see the Town Square Inn Pianist playing old standards or hear the Firehouse Five playing in front of the Fire House or the Dapper Dans singing in front of City Hall. Opposite City Hall is The Main Street Theatre presents One Man’s Dream. This celebration of Walt Disney’s achievements and his legacy featuring live singers and favorite Disney characters takes place in a 2,000 seat, state of the art theatre and is designed to be an excellent introduction to Disney classics, while also being an entertaining show.

How's about a trip down Main Street?
b9ecaf8c755e1d7858db9758baf7a003.jpg

Down Main Street is a lovely collection of shops and attractions, or you might even see The Citizens of Main Street. On the right side of the street, The Main Street Photo Company is the perfect place to prepare for all the photos you’ll take and The Main Street Museum of Art presenting the Art of Disney features a large collection of Disney animation cels, study figures, character designs, and more for guests to see. A small alleyway leads to a small residential area that we will look into later. Next door lies the entrance to Flora’s. This is the finest dining experience available to the public at any Disney Park in the world and is set high above Main Street in an elegant atmosphere themed to the fine restaurants of the 1920s.

Further down the street is a break in the buildings towards a cartoony area. We’ll explore that later though. A collection of shops makes up the area closest to the end of the street. The Main Street Crystal Works offers fine glass trinkets and the Main Street House of Magic is a the perfect place to find a new hobby. On the opposite side of the street, lies the Main Street Emporium, a one stop shop for anything and everything one would want from the Enchanted Empire.

Further down the street is a break in the buildings towards an area straight out of the golden age of Hollywood. We’ll explore that later as well. A small collection of shops can only be described as ‘sweet.’ The Main Street Ice Cream Parlor, Main Street Bakery, and Main Street Candy Palace all combine together, owned by the same sweet couple seen in pictures around the small complex.

A very small update today

Cherry Tree Lane
mary-poppins-returns-concept-art-cherry-tree-lane-600x280.jpeg

And now, let’s go down that little alleyway to the residential area, shall we? Welcome to Cherry Tree Lane. This small area is perfectly themed to the world of Mary Poppins. The first thing guests will see is the Jolly Holiday Cafe, the perfect place to sit down for a nice afternoon tea or enjoy some English treats.
result-1-3.jpg

And we also encounter the first ride in Disney Enchanted Empire, Mary Poppins Jolly Holiday where guests board carousel horses and make their way on a wonderful and magical journey through the story of Mary Poppins. And out around the entire area, guests can discover Mary Poppins and Bert themselves strolling the streets.

Mickey Avenue
rowmapright.jpg~original

This is the home of Mickey and Friends, themed to the whole gang just starting out in the 20s. Cartoonish swing and jazz music fill the air as Mickey and Friends enjoy a day out on the town and see their friends. Also, throughout the day, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, easily the most famous citizen of the Avenue at this point, brings out his lovely girlfriend in Oh My, Ortensia right on the street.

Down the street is a whole host of shops and attractions. We start out in the Business district of Mickey Avenue, filled with shops and dining. On one side, Ortensia’s Five and Dime and McDuck’s Department Store neighbor each other, the two compete together in a friendly rivalry. Next door is Scrooge’s Money Bin where we can embark on a rollicking wild adventure in Scrooge McDuck’s Lucky Dime Escapade.
latest

On the other side of the street is a collection of wonderful dining establishments. Daisy’s Diner is a small diner, themed to the humble dining establishments of old with all the traditional works and is one of the most popular locations in the park for a quick but filling breakfast. Next door is The Ink and Paint Club, a somewhat seedy but mostly harmless dining club for the cartoon elite. If you prefer your clubs a bit lighter, the The House of Mouse is the perfect location. This character dining location is slightly based on the old cartoon series, but puts a 1920s twist on it.
latest

Finally, Oswald’s is sure to be yet another fan favorite. Designed to be a more family and budget counterpart to Flora’s on Main Street, Oswald’s is a fun twist on a classic fine dining experience. Just next door is a movie studio, where we’re invited to see the latest print of Mickey and Minnie’s newest cartoon, but they soon get sucked in to live Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway for themselves.
mame78u4iyhkjh59861.jpg

Separating the business district from the residential district of Mickey Avenue is Toon Park. This is simply a nice place to relax and take a break while kids can play before continuing on with your day.
281_main_visual_name_2.jpg

We finally arrive at the residential area of Mickey Avenue. Mickey’s House and Minnie’s House are one of the first things guests will see in the area. Often times, Mickey and Minnie can be seen in front of their own homes. After that we see a large treehouse, the home of Chip and Dale, which is also home to the drop tower Chip and Dale’s Nut Drop. Further on, we can see Donald’s Houseboat, the Miss Daisy which he has open for guests to look inside. Finally, Goofy’s silly home is the host of Goofy’s Paint and Play House, this park’s version of the popular Toy Story Mania where guests can assist Goofy in remodeling his home.
mickeys-toontown-disneyland.jpg

And scattered around the area are small food and beverage and merchandise stands. The Old Lemonade Stand sits near Chip and Dale’s Nut Drop, but no points for guessing what they serve. The Doghouse sits near Mickey’s House and serves quick sandwiches guests can order. Steamboat Sundries sits near Donald’s Boat with plenty of funny gags and bare necessities for guests. Finally, Plane Crazy constantly changes locations throughout the day, but no cast member will ever acknowledge it moving. However, guests that do find it will find an entire line of merchandise exclusive to only this stand, themed to the Mickey Mouse shorts Plane Crazy, The Gallopin’ Gaucho, and Steamboat Willie.

Sunset Boulevard

Guests are transported to the Golden Age of Hollywood to experience a little taste of The Hollywood that Never Was and Always Will Be. Old trolley tracks scatter the land, a foreshadowing of the big E-ticket of the land perhaps? But first thing’s first, a large merchandise stand sits in a Town Square style area, The Crossroads of the World. This is the one stop shop for merchandise themed to the land. And from the looks of those two big staircases and small stage sitting near that shady terrace, it looks like Goofy About Hollywood is about to begin.
It’s a tribute to the magic of Hollywood where anyone can be a star and Goofy is ready for his big screen debut, only if he doesn’t goof it up though. But Silver Screen Stars Mickey, Minnie, and Donald are here to help him out in this show that proves that anyone can be a star.
  • Opening
    • Goofy About Hollywood
  • The Audition
    • You Wanna Be in Pictures
  • Show Business Medley
    • Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee
    • Let Me Dance For You
    • Make ‘Em Laugh
    • There’s No Business Like Show Business
  • The Premiere
    • Hooray for Hollywood
    • That’s Entertainment
  • Goofy Goofs it Up
    • Goofy messes up the number and is defeated after Donald has a tantrum, but Mickey and Minnie tell him not to give up, because he’s still on his way to being a star.
  • Finale
    • Goofy About Hollywood
Don’t forget to meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy in their Hollywood premiere best after the show. And the terraced viewing area is also the perfect place to enjoy the wonderful food from the Sunset Terrace. And up and down Sunset Boulevard, The Citizens of Hollywood are here to entertain. Further down, an iconic hat signals The Hollywood Brown Derby, a Hollywood classic and the fabled originator of the Cobb salad.
brownderbywilshire-500x316.jpg

And remember those trolley tracks? Well at the end of the street is a strange, haunting mission style building, with Sunset Boulevard Transportation Company in a neon sign. This is the Hollywood Boulevard Terror Tracks.

And of course the ride has to exit into Sunset Boulevard Transport Company Gifts. A grand recreation of the El Capitan Theatre nearby is the home to The Great Movie Ride, a new take on Disney Hollywood Studios’ ride through some of Hollywood’s most well regarded films.

That brings us to the end of our tour of the Kingdom of Yesterday, but there are so many more places to see and things to do at the Enchanted Empire. But to do that, we must first pass through our portal to these other kingdoms.

I am curious about your version of The Great Movie Ride.
I'll get to it. It might actually be completely different from the Studios version but I haven't even had the first thought about it other than I want it to be more than the (very excellent) random assortment of good movies that the Studios ride was. There's a strong chance that the traveling theatre might not even make the transition.
