A June 24 Disney Parks Blog post hints that holiday decor at resort hotels may soon be limited to guests with a resort stay or dining reservation, mirroring the new Disney Springs transport policy.

A June 24 Disney Parks Blog post hints that holiday decor at resort hotels may soon be restricted to guests with a resort stay or dining reservation. No official announcement has been made, but the wording is new and closely mirrors the recently introduced Disney Springs transportation verification policy.

Also includes walking paths via Skyliner routes!

Yacht Beach BoardWalk Riviera Caribbean Pop and Art are all easily (edited) connected by the Skyliner to make Resort hopping by Park guests who are not Resort Guests much easier.

As are Poly Grand and Contemp with walking paths.

It would be very difficult and expensive to prevent access, but maybe blocking the entry points will be enough, even if it doesn't cover it 100%. Wonder if this is more likely at a few key locations rather than all of them.

Resort hopping and non Disney Guests don’t bother me.
But I was suggesting that there are more than Boat and monorail checks that need to be made to enforce any such future policy.

For instance, a non Resort Guest could fly from DHS to Epcot and walk into Beach Club for a Christmas display.

I think we all agree that the satisfaction of guests paying to stay at the resort is a higher priority than that of guests not staying at that resort.

The fact that the Grand Flo isn't doing the gingerbread house, ostensibly because of lobby crowding, seems to indicate this has become a resort guest satisfaction issue.

Anecdotally, I've heard from resort CMs who've observed resort pool birthday parties hosted and attended by people not staying at the resort. I'm sure that's an extreme example, but even a tiny percent of abuse in a city the size of Orlando is gonna have an impact.
