That lead girl needs to be on the Mt. Rushmore of most memorable female horror performances, alongside Kathy Bates and Linda Blair to name a few.
...and the mother from Hereditary... who to this very day is why I sleep with one eye open and don't trust any dark or shadowy ceilings. 😨

Horror movies tend to have big 2nd weekend drops, so I'm not surprised the same thing is happening to Backrooms

Obsession is very much the exception to the rule, not just for horror films, but movies in general
My point really was not that… I just thought it was interesting Backrooms may end up making the same money as Mando

But to your point I agree that Horror movies usually have a big drop off but not quite that big…here are a few examples… Weapons 43% Monkey 52 %, Black Phone 2 at 52%, and of course Sinners with the historic 5%…. I choose only well reviewed movies… but I did look up several others and the ony 2 I saw that were higher was Heart Eyes ( thee weeks after Valentines… which is the crowd they were after) an FNaF(which had day and date release) both at 72

Which tells me Backrooms didn’tā€t really get much past the core fans… if it did it would of had a smaller drop off

Always good to be in the company of The Lone Ranger, Tomorrowland and John Carter on the opening weekend:

The Numbers saying $29.3 million opening, after Deadline estimated $30 million yesterday

While still disappointing, I'm not sure where they got an estimate of less than $25 million from
It’s not actually wrong it said MotU might miss 25 million..not that it did… These are estimates…. The actuals will not arrive till tomorrow… and every time new estimates are given the numbers decreased… personally I don’t think it will go below 25 million…just saying the post was not technically wrong

He/Man is in trouble though… it would need incredible legs to not be a flop… but that is tough during the summer when you have big movies(sometimes multiple)opening every week… and I am not feeling any hype from the general pop

First pass box office is out for this weekend. Mandalorian & Grogu has dropped to 6th place in its 3rd weekend. Oof.

I'm not sure that Mandalorian & Grogu will get to its already modest break even of $360 Million globally now.

It'll be a squeaker, if it does. 🧐

Maybe not a flop on paper…but Star Wars fail for sure
